Hallmark’s Holiday Movie Lineup 2019: Breakdown Of Hallmark’s New Christmas Films


Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas campaign has become one of the most-anticipated events of the holiday season when it comes to movies and television. When it comes to wholesome, sweet, and original holiday films packed full of recognizable stars and Hallmark Channel favorites, the network has done more than delivered. As popularity of their made-for-TV holiday films has grown, for the special 10th anniversary edition of Countdown to Christmas, Hallmark Channel revealed that it would have 24 brand new films for the 2019 season while Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ Miracles of Christmas will have another 16, leading to a record-breaking 40 new Christmas films from Hallmark this year! All of the movies premiere at 8 p.m. ET/PT, so here is a full breakdown of all the new films, who stars in them and when they will air:

40. A Merry Christmas Match

Stars: Ashley Newbrough and Kyle Dean Massey.

Plot: “Corey Calvin dreamed of being a theater director in the city but that meant abandoning her late father’s antiques shop in her small hometown as well as leaving the local Christmas Pageant as director. When L.A. hunk Ryder Donnelly visits her shop, more than Christmas lights twinkle and their affection grows. A surprise gift from Ryder convinces Corey to attend a holiday soiree at the Donnelly estate. When Corey sees Ryder at her Christmas Pageant, she reaches a crossroads. Does she owe it to her dad’s memory to stay in Harmony or owe it to her heart and finally listen when love calls?”

A Merry Christmas Match airs Friday, October 25 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ “Miracles of Christmas.”


39. Christmas Wishes & Mistletoe Kisses

Stars: Jill Wagner, Matthew Davis, and Donna Mills.

Plot: “Former interior designer Abbey Fuller can’t resist the opportunity to redecorate businessman Nick Sinclair’s grand family estate. But her challenge involves more than furniture, paint and a tight Christmas Eve deadline. The real conundrum is Nick, a buttoned-up workaholic who surprises Abbey, and himself, when he begins to reveal the kind, thoughtful man beneath the polished façade.”

Christmas Wishes & Mistletoe Kisses airs Saturday October 26 on Hallmark.


38. A Nostalgic Christmas

Stars: Brooke D’ Orsay and Trevor Donovan.

Plot: “When Anne Garrison visits her hometown in Maine for the holidays she is torn between returning to New York and her career as a toy buyer for a national department store, or remaining in the small town to take over her dad’s hand-carved wooden toy business and see where a burgeoning romance with a handsome local might lead.”

A Nostalgic Christmas airs Thursday, October 31 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ “Miracles of Christmas.”


37. Two Turtle Doves

Stars: Nikki DeLoach and Michael Rady.

Plot: “Neuroscientist Dr. Sharon Harper, who studies loss and grief, returns to her childhood home following the death of her beloved grandmother to get her affairs in order. She becomes reacquainted with Sam, the disheartened estate lawyer and single dad, grieving for his late wife. It’s both Christmas and her late grandmother’s will and testament that challenge Sharon with a quest for a long-lost family heirloom that leads them both to confront old memories with making new ones. When she is faced with choosing between her past and her future, she rediscovers what the holiday — and life — is truly about.”

36. Merry & Bright

Stars: Jodie Sweetin, Andrew Walker, and Donna Mills.

Plot: “Cate is the CEO of Merry & Bright, a struggling small-town candy cane factory.  Gabe is a New York consultant tasked with saving the company. With Christmas approaching, Gabe travels to the town, only to find Cate resenting his efforts to restructure her business. Though they initially clash, they soon develop feelings for each other. But when Gabe urges her to accept a high-profile investor’s suggestion to abandon the traditional methods of her business, Cate parts ways with him. On Christmas Eve, Cate wonders if she’ll manage to save her factory and if she’ll ever find a holiday romance again.”

35. Christmas Scavenger Hunt

Stars: Kevin McHarry and Kim Shaw.

Plot: “When Belinda heads to her hometown for the holidays, things get complicated when she is forced to team up with her ex Dustin for the town’s annual Christmas scavenger hunt.”

34. A Blue Ridge Mountain Christmas

Stars: Rachael Leigh Cook and Benjamin Ayres.

Plot: “Hotel manager Willow returns to her stunning Virginia hometown to help her sister plan a Christmas wedding at the inn her family once owned. She must work with current owner and single dad David, who wants to let go of the past.”

A Blue Ridge Mountain Christmas airs Thursday, November 7 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ “Miracles of Christmas.”


33. Holiday For Heroes

Stars: Melissa Claire Egan and Marc Blucas.

Plot: “Audrey and First Sergeant Matt have been writing each other since last Christmas, when her brother Devin shared some fresh roasted coffee from the care package she’d sent. When Matt unexpectedly shows up in her small-town coffee shop, Audrey is delighted to see him. Soon, Matt helps Audrey with the annual Holiday for Heroes event, which honors local service members. As they work to save this important event from being cancelled, will the spirit of the season bring Matt and Audrey’s love beyond their letters?”

32. Picture A Perfect Christmas

Stars: Merritt Patterson and Jon Cor

Plot: “A photographer whose career is on the fast track yet whose personal life lacks the fulfillment she seeks, finds romance with an unlikely candidate while visiting her grandmother in Bainbridge Island, Washington. over the Christmas holiday season.”

31. The Mistletoe Secret

Stars: Kellie Pickler, Tyler Hynes, and Patrick Duffy.

Plot: “When Aria Eubank convinces a famous travel writer to do a feature story on her beloved hometown, Midway, Utah, it looks like the town’s tourism drop is about to be reversed.  However, when the travel guru and his ghostwriter both show up, Aria finds her heart torn between the charismatic but pompous Sterling Masters and Alex Bartlett, the real talent behind ‘Masters of Travel,’ and the man who has genuinely fallen for her.”

30. A Christmas Miracle

Stars: Tamera Mowry-Housely, Brooks Darnell, and Barry Bostwick.

Plot: “Ever-optimistic single mom Emma Sanderson is looking for a Christmas miracle to write about for the lifestyle magazine at which she has landed a temporary job. While following her lead on the story, Emma discovers unexpected romance with a supportive colleague and takes it upon herself to bring about a Christmas miracle for a lonely street musician.”

A Christmas Miracle airs Thursday, November 14 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ “Miracles of Christmas.”


29. A Godwink Christmas: Meant For Love

Stars: Kathie Lee Gifford, Cindy Busby, and Ben Hollingdworth.

Plot: “Alice Marina (Busby) and Jack Totah (Hollingsworth) have been unwittingly living their lives beside each other for years; Alice in a big, bustling family, including larger-than-life, loving mom Olga (Gifford). This Christmas, after a series of unbelievable coincidences happen during road trips, a family wedding, and lots of shared Christmas activities, they slowly find themselves falling head-over-heels for each other. But with Alice worrying about her family business expansion and a mysterious medical issue, and Jack trying for a promotion, they ask themselves the question: is everything just a crazy coincidence, or are some Godwinks afoot? 28. Christmas Under the Stars

Stars: Jesse Metcalfe, Autumn Reeser, Clarke Peters

Plot: “When Nick, a career-focused investment banker, is fired from his high-powered firm at Christmastime, he takes a job at a Christmas tree lot owned by a warmhearted widower. There, he meets Julie, an astronomy teacher who’s always looked to the stars for hope. As the Christmas spirit washes over him — and he begins falling for Julie — the once self-centered Nick discovers the joy of helping others. When he learns that Julie and the tree lot owner are facing hard times, Nick strives to end their troubles in time for them all to share a Christmas under the stars.”

 27. Write Before Christmas

Stars: Torrey DeVitto, Chad Michael Murray, Drew Seeley, grant Show, Lolita Davidovich

Plot: A recently single Jessica (DeVitto) sends Christmas cards to give people that have impacted her life — the aunt (Davidovich) who raised her, her younger brother in the military, a popstar (Drew Seeley) that was part of the soundtrack of her life, the music teacher that inspired her, and the best friend who always tells the truth. It seems however her music teacher’s letter is opened up about his son, played by Murray, that sparks a relationship between the two.

Write Before Christmas airs Sunday, November 17 on Hallmark Channel.


26. Holiday Hearts

Stars: Ashley Williams and Paul Campbell

Plot:“While planning the family Christmas gala, Peyton is forced together with Ben to care for a friend’s daughter. While finding their Christmas spirit, will there be some romance along the way?”

Holiday Hearts airs Thursday, November 21 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ “Miracles of Christmas.”


25. Our Christmas Love Song

Stars: Alicia Witt

Plot: There is no plot synopsis for Our Christmas Love Song yet. It is known however that the film will star Alicia Witt who has become somewhat of a Hallmark holiday movie staple. Witt has starred in Christmas on Honeysuckle Lane, The Mistletoe Inn, Christmas List, and more.

24. Christmas at Graceland: Home for the Holidays

Stars: Adrian Grenier, Kaitlin Doubleday, Priscilla Doubleday, and Chase Bryant.

Plot: “We return to Graceland at Christmas, but this time, with a whole new story and cast of characters! Returning home to Memphis for Christmas after three years abroad, Harper Ellis hopes to land her dream job as associate curator at the Brooks Museum in town. Not one to sit still, and waiting to hear back, she’s excited when she’s asked to create an Elvis-at-Christmas exhibit at Graceland, where she gave tours in high school. Only her time at Graceland turns complicated when she meets Owen Reed, a successful businessman and widowed father of three, who is in desperate need of an au pair to help him get through the holidays. Plot:“Darcy and Aiden celebrate their second Christmas together when an unexpected guest and a fight to save the beloved community center unites everyone for an unforgettable holiday.”

A Gift to Remember 2 airs Sunday, November 24 on Hallmark Channel.


22. A Christmas Duet

Stars: Chaley Rose, Rome Flynn, and Teryl Rothery.

Plot: “Former pop music duo – and former couple – Averie and Jesse are reunited at Averie’s inn over the holiday season. As the two spend time together preparing for the Christmas festival Averie is hosting at her inn, they rediscover long-buried feelings and notice the creative spark each one lights in the other. While Averie balances planning for the festival and trying to impress a hotel critic, Jesse catches a glimpse of what life with Averie would look like, possibly revealing a dream he never knew he had. As Christmas approaches, the two must decide if they are meant to live their lives solo or in harmony together.”

A Christmas Duet airs on Monday, November 25 on Hallmark Channel.


21. Double Holiday

Stars: Kristoffer Polaha and Carly Pope.

Plot: “Career-minded Rebecca’s plans for Hanukkah go askew when a promotion opportunity comes up at work. When the company CEO asks Rebecca and her insufferable office mate, Chris – also her main competitor for the promotion – to plan the company’s Christmas party, she realizes they must overcome their opposing styles in order to succeed. Forced to work together on the holiday party, Chris learns more about Rebecca and her family’s Hanukkah traditions, while she also begins to see him in a new light. Although feelings slowly develop between the two, the ongoing competition over the promotion threatens to undermine it all.”

20. The Christmas Club

Stars: Elizabeth Mitchell and Cameron Mathison

Plot: “When dance teacher Olivia and business consultant Edward meet, they replace Gertrude’s lost Christmas Club savings with their own money, and soon begin noticing several pay-it-forward acts. But their magical day ends when Olivia learns Edward’s client is buying the dance studio.  Luckily Edward finds a storefront perfect for Olivia to start her own studio, and secretly helps her get a loan. Thinking she got it herself, Olivia sees Edward hugging the loan officer, and declares he must believe in her for their relationship to work. It might take some Christmas magic and fate to bring these two back together.”

Plot: “Julia Crawley and Roger Mason must unite their families during Crestridge’s centennial Christmas celebration in order to save their family inns from a developer.”

18. Sense, Sensibility & Snowmen

Stars: Erin Krakow, Luke Macfarlane, and Kimberley Sustad

Plot: Based on the novel by Melissa de la Cruz, Christmas enthusiast party planners Ella (Krakow) and her sister, Marianne, clash with their client, Edward (MacFarlane), who is a not-so-jolly toy company CEO.

Sense, Sensibility, & Snowmen airs on Friday, November 29 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ “Miracles of Christmas.”



17. Christmas at the Plaza

Stars: Ryan Paevey and Elizabeth Henstridge

Plot: “With Christmas approaching in New York City, Jessica, an archival historian enmeshed in a declining romantic relationship, is hired to create an exhibition honoring the history of Christmas at the Plaza Hotel.  There, she meets Nick, a handsome decorator who’s been commissioned to deck out the iconic landmark.  When they’re paired together to prepare the exhibition, they wind up enjoying a host of holiday traditions together and find themselves falling for each other. Tensions soon rise as Jessica must figure out her romantic priorities and decide with whom she’ll ultimately spend Christmas at the Plaza.”

16. Christmas in Rome

Plot: “Angela, an American tour guide living in Rome, meets Oliver, an American business executive who is lost and late for an important meeting on his first day there. Angela helps him, but soon finds herself playing a central role in Oliver’s business deal, as the company owner will only sell to someone who understands the ways of Italy. Oliver hires Angela as his personal tour guide but gets far more than he bargained for, as a romance blooms between them amidst the backdrop of Rome at Christmastime and he must learn that life and business work differently in Italy.”

15. Christmas Town

Stars: Candace Cameron Bure, Tim Rozon, and Beth Broderick

Plot: “Elementary school teacher Lauren Gabriel decides to leave the comfortable and familiar — and career-only minded boyfriend — for a more family-friendly/white-picket fence lifestyle far from Boston. 13. Time for You to Come Home for Christmas

Stars: TBA

Plot: Time for You to Come Home for Christmas is one of the most elusive new films coming to Hallmark this holiday season. It comes from executive producer Blake Shelton as the follow-up film to the country superstar’s Time for Me to Come Home for Christmas which was the 2018 film inspired by Shelton’s life. The sequel will reportedly have a new cast but will have some of the same filming locations according to reports.

12. Hallmark Hall of Fame: A Christmas Love Story

Stars: Kristin Chenoweth, Scott Wolf, Keith Robinson, and Kevin Quinn

Plot: “NYC youth choir director Katherine must write the title song for the Christmas Eve show but becomes distracted when a gifted boy joins her choir unbeknownst to his widowed father, Greg.”

Hallmark Hall of Fame: A Christmas Love Story airs Saturday, December 7 on Hallmark Channel.


11. Christmas at Dollywood

Stars: Danica McKellar, Niall Matter, and Dolly Parton

Plot: In Christmas at Dollywood, Rachel Lewis (McKellar) is a single mom and award-winning Broadway producer who learns investors have mismanaged her latest theatrical — a holiday extravaganza — into bankruptcy, forcing the show to close before it even opens. Dismayed, Rachel’s friend calls from Tennessee to tell her about an opportunity to produce a show for the 20th anniversary of the Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival at Dollywood. The only caveat? Rachel will have to work with Luke Hakman, Dollywood’s entertainment director who sees the holiday show as a stepping stone to become the park’s new general manager.

10. Christmas in Montana

Stars: Kellie Martin and Colin Ferguson

Plot: There is no official synopsis for Christmas in Montana just yet. All anyone knows is that it is very clearly based in Montana and stars Hallmark Channel veterans Kellie Martin and Colin Ferguson. Martin is best known for playing Hailey Dean in the network’s Hailey Dean Mystery series. Ferguson is also a Hallmark Movies & Mysteries staple actor. He played Mac Sullivan in the Fixer Upper Mystery series.

Christmas in Montana airs Thursday, December 12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ “Miracles of Christmas.”


9. Angel Falls: A Novel Holiday

Stars: Jen Lilley and Carlo Marks

Plot: There is no official synopsis for Angel Falls: A Novel Holiday just yet. It seems it will be a sequel to Christmas in Angel Falls which followed an angel who was sent to the town of Angel Falls after the small town had lost its Christmas spirit. While it is a sequel, it features a new cast including Jen Lilley and Carlo Marks.

Angel Falls: A Novel Holiday airs Friday, December 13 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ “Miracles of Christmas.”


8. Christmas in Evergreen: Tidings of Joy

Stars: Paul Greene, Maggie Lawson, Barbara Niven, Holly Robinson Peete, Colin Lawrence, Ashley Williams, and Jill Wagner.

Plot: “As the town searches for a rumored Christmas Time Capsule, a skeptical writer arrives in Evergreen to get the story on the town’s ‘too-good-to-be-true’ Christmas-fever.”

7. Holiday Date

Stars: Brittany Bristow and Matt Cohen

Plot: “When Brooke’s boyfriend, Ethan, breaks up with her just before the holidays, she agrees to go home with Joel, an actor who will pose as her boyfriend. She’s built up the ex-boyfriend to be the perfect guy and ‘Mr. Christmas’ but discovers Joel is Jewish and has never celebrated the holiday. What he lacks in experience he makes up for in enthusiasm and happily participates in yuletide festivities. When his secret is revealed, the family is eager to add Joel’s Hanukkah traditions into their holiday celebration but soon become suspicious about his true identity.”

6. Christmas On My Mind/An Unforgettable Christmas

Stars: Ashley Greene, Andrew Walker, and Jackée Harry

Plot: There is no official plot description for Christmas On My Mind just yet. So little information is available about the film that there isn’t even a consensus on its title! While in some places it is listed as Christmas on My Mind and in others as An Unforgettable Christmas, it is certain that the movie will star Twilight actress Ashley Greene and longtime Hallmark veteran Andrew Walker. Fans will recognize Walker from A Dream of Christmas, A Bride for Christmas, Love on Ice, Snowed Inn Christmas and so many more.

Christmas on My Mind airs Thursday, December 19 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ “Miracles of Christmas.”

5. A Family Christmas Gift

Stars: Holly Robinson Peete, Patti LaBelle, and Dion Johnstone

Plot: There is no official description for A Family Christmas Gift just yet, but what is known is that the film will feature some legends. 21 Jump Street’s Holly Robinson Peete, who is also appearing in A Christmas in Evergreen: Tidings of Joy will be starring in the film alongside Patti LaBelle and Dion Johnstone.

4. It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Stars: Eric Malbus

Plot: There is no official description for It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas just yet. Very few stars have even been announced for the film but it has been reported that Eric Malbus will be starring in the film. Mabius played Oliver O’Toole in Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ Signed, Sealed, Delivered  TV series and its 10-plus TV movie sequels. Last year, he also starred in the Hallmark holiday movie Welcome to Christmas.

3. A Cheerful Christmas

Stars: Erica Deutschman, Chad Connell

Plot:“Lauren and her best friend Colleen think they have landed their dream job – giving people the best and most magical Christmas ever as their personal ‘Christmas Coaches.’ This holiday season promises to be their biggest ever when they land a royal client, the Anderson family, who has moved from England. When Lauren meets James, the eldest son, he wants nothing to do with planning Christmas as he’s busy negotiating a big acquisition for his father’s company. But Lauren won’t be thwarted in helping this royal family embrace the true spirit of Christmas. The more she prods James about their family holiday traditions the more he opens up. Sparks start to fly but she faces competition in the form of an old childhood friend and business colleague of James. Now Lauren must win his heart while giving the Andersons their best Christmas ever.”

2. When Calls the Heart Christmas

Plot: The When Calls the Heart cast is coming together for a Christmas special which Hallmark has airing on Christmas Day. There is no plot description yet, but fans of both Hallmark movies and the show can be guaranteed and emotional and heart-warming film to enjoy on Christmas.

1. New Year, New Me

Stars: Aimee Teegarden

Plot: There is no official synopsis for New Year, New Me just yet. It looks like New Year, New Me will be Hallmark’s New Year’s holiday film of the year and will star Aimee Teegarden. While she is best known for her role as Julie Taylor on Friday Night Lights, last year she starred in he Hallmark Movies & Mysteries film Once Upon a Christmas Miracle.
