Days Of Our Lives News Round-Up For The Week (March 7, 2022)

It’s a brand-new year in the land of Salem, with 12 months’ worth of stories just waiting to unfold within Days of Our Lives (DOOL)! Will fans see new characters emerge? Will old ones return? Will new couples form … will new alliances be made? So much can happen this year! As such, below are some 2020 DOOL plotline predictions for fans to ponder.

12. Steve Returns!

With Stefano currently parading around as Steve Johnson, it’s only natural to come to the assumption that the real Patch may emerge back in Salem at some point in 2020! The only way the jig can truly be up for DiMera is if there is substantial proof that he is not Johnson, so it is highly likely that Steve is bound to come back to the little town, somewhere down the line.

11. Bonnie’s Storyline

There are two ways a Bonnie storyline could unfold! There’s option “A” — Adrienne did not pass on, it was really Bonnie who met her demise, but everyone thinks that she was Adrienne, meaning Adrienne could return to Salem in 2020. Option “B” is that Bonnie comes back to torture Adrienne’s loved ones, parading around as doppelganger when she’s not who she says she is.

10. Splitsville For Kayla And Justin

Regardless of whether Steve – or Adrienne – come back to the little town, Justin and Kayla are probably headed for splitsville. Kayla is already intrigued by “Steve,” and with him (seemingly) in her orbit, she may just gravitate towards him, and leave Justin in the dust. If Bonnie were to return onscreen (whether she parades around as Adrienne or not), an interesting angle would be a relationship between her and Justin. Perhaps he is drawn to her (at first) by who she looks like and then falls in love with who she becomes (if she decides to change her ways).

9. Brady and Nicole

In the next coming days, Nicole will lie to Kristen about her relationship with Brady in order to protect him from a potential reunion with his eccentric ex; it seems like he’ll be on board to keep up the charade. Nothing screams new relationship like two people are “pretending” to be in love, and with the history these two have, they might not be “pretending” for very long.

8. Gina and Stefano Do Something Drastic

Gina has her eyes on John while Stefano continues his long-time infatuation with Marlena. Seems as if these two will stop at nothing to break up Jarlena so that they can have them. But, as DOOL fans know, John and Marlena are pretty in love with each other, and they always seem to defy the odds. What if Stefano and Gina do something desperate to keep them apart? Perhaps they kidnap, and place them in different areas (but under the same roof). Jarlena would eventually escape, but the entire concept could have Days fans on the edge of their seats until things got resolved!

7. Ciara and Victor Patch Things Up

While Victor is set to suffer from a medical crisis this week, sometime during (or after) a confrontation with Ciara, there’s a good chance that once all the chips fall, and he gets better, these two may patch things up. Sure, she went against his wishes, but all in the name of love. Besides, Victor has always had a soft spot for Ciara, and by the time spring hits, these two might be able to put their differences aside.

6. Ben Starts To Work For Victor

In fact, if Victor helps Ciara in her quest to get Ben released, the granddaughter and grandfather may not only be able to place their grudge aside, but have a stronger relationship when all is said and done. Maybe Ben can change Victor’s mind about him, like he was able to do with Hope. Thanks to Ben’s past experience, could Victor hire him on for a special project for his company?

5. Cin Wedding

Once Ben is a free man, and Ciara is back on good terms with her granddad, the two may feel as if they have wasted more than enough time apart. Cin is one of DOOL’s top super couples right now, and the only logical step for these two is a wedding. Could Days fans see Ben and Ciara walk down that aisle come 2020? It’s a huge possibility!

4. The Gabi/Eli Wedding Is Stopped

Speaking of, DOOL spoilers suggest that Eli will propose to Gabi and soon. With that said, fans know these two don’t belong to each other, with Hernandez actually bringing out the worse in Eli right now. They will probably set a spring wedding date, with tons of hype and teases around Eli finding out the truth about what Gabi has been up to, only for the wedding to be stopped before they say “I do.” But, who will be the one to halt things?

3. Stefan Returns

While it would be poetic justice if Lani stops their wedding, she may be too preoccupied with J.J. in the coming months to really care what Eli does at this point. What if it turned out that Stefan DiMera wasn’t really gone? What if he returns to Salem just in time to stop his wife from marrying Eli?

2. Father-Son Bonding Time

The way storylines have worked, Stefan never truly got to meet his father Stefano. He was introduced to the show at a time when it was thought that Stefano had passed away, and even when it was revealed that he was alive, the two never got to bond. If Stefano returns, and Stefano is still around, perhaps DOOL fans will be privy to some DiMera father-son bonding. Perhaps they get closer when they start scheming around how to ruin the lives of Salemites that have done them wrong. That alliance could take over the little town in an instant.

1. Sami Returns … With E.J.

According to DOOL spoilers, actress Alison Sweeney is set to reprise her Samantha Brady role this summer. Why would Sami want to return to Salem? What if E.J. was finally able to recover all his memories? What if he wanted to return to the little town to re-establish his roots? What if he knows who he is, and now knows what he truly wants? He may want to join his father and brother in the family business, or perhaps he has his eye on bringing them both down.
