The Sarah Horton storyline seems cut and dry; however, it also looks as if there’s a plot twist on the horizon. How will this all unravel? Will Ava go down for what she’s done to Rafe, Nicole and Duke? Will Devil Johnny continue his reign of terror? Days of Our Lives (DOOL) fans love speculating on storylines. As such, below are some DOOL plotline predictions for winter 2022.

12. What’s Going To Happen With Sarah?

Things seem so up in the air with Sarah Horton’s return. Fans know that she’s on an island somewhere; however, Ava just brought a mask to Gwen, which means a fake Sarah will be circulating. Days spoilers hint that Xander will have a confrontation with “Sarah” (and Maggie); so Rizczech will go through with the plan, but will she get away with it?

11. Abigail’s On An Island!

Days spoilers for winter hint that Abigail will be stuck on an island for a prolonged period of time. She’ll also be taken aback by her cousin’s behavior when the two reunite. Sounds like Abby will get a lead on Sarah’s whereabouts and run with it. She’ll find Sarah, but she’ll also find out why it’s been so hard for Horton to come back to Salem.

10. How Did She Get There?

Abby will likely jump on a lead without keeping Xander in the loop. She’ll hop on a plane to the island and discover her cousin, who could have amnesia or show symptoms of being loony from so much alone-time on the island. (Remember the movie, Cast Away?) Someone is probably keeping post on the island in Kristen’s absence. So when Abigail arrives, she’ll be captured and held hostage.

9. The Pilot Is In On It

However, if Kristen paid off the pilot to fly Sarah to this island, who’s to say she won’t just add to his income by keeping Abigail (permanently) quiet. The bigger question here is: why won’t Kristen just have them both shot, at this point? Living people can’t spill the beans on misdoings!

8. DOOL’s Obsession With Islands…

Most long-time fans will agree that DOOL has an unhealthy obsession with islands. Every few years or so, people will go missing and pop up on an island, or a plane will crash leaving Salemites stranded on one. There’s a chance that the island Abby and Sarah are on will become more populated as the winter wears on. One person who has a good chance of joining them is Steve Johnson.

7. Steve Goes Missing

The last time fans saw Steve, he was being held at gunpoint. Kristen is a sneaky one, and with the DiMera fortune at her disposal, she can make anything happen. Despite being a criminal, she’ll find a way to knock Steve out and ship him to her island, where he’ll meet up with Sarah and Abigail. He won’t see them right away, and it’ll take weeks for all of them to connect, but once those three heads come together, they’ll think of a plan to get home.

6. Philip Returns

Philip will likely return at some point this winter. The truth will eventually come out that he has not passed away; however, he’ll avoid telling everyone that it was all a set-up. Somehow, Kate, Roman and Victor will remain tight-lipped. After all, Brady was spared from a jail sentence! Brady and Chloe will get closer and closer in the weeks ahead. In fact, they’ll act on their feelings and struggle with guilt. Philip will catch them together and play on Lane’s emotions.

5. Will Nancy And Craig Be Okay?

Nancy and Craig’s marital woes were probably a storyline brought in to trigger the Brady/Chloe romance. Mr. Black will offer support and a shoulder for Lane to cry on over the coming weeks, and with Philip not around, these two will gravitate towards each other. Craig and Nancy will work things out and leave Salem before spring hits.

4. Ava Goes Overboard

Just how far will Ava go for revenge? Quite far! The good news is that Rafe is onto her, and he’ll likely call her out over what she’s done. However, before Hernandez officially kicks Ava to the curb, she’ll have some interesting news. Vitali will swerve his break-up by letting him know she’s expecting his child. If this happens, Ava will stay put in his house. Things are about to get quite awkward between Rafe, Nicole and Vitali.

3. Devilish Antics

Is Devil Johnny here to stay? Looks like that’s the case. Maybe he’ll be gone by Easter 2022, but he’ll wreak havoc during the dark and cold winter months in Salem. DOOL spoilers imply that Satan will be obsessed with someone else’s baby. Could Devil Johnny zero in on baby “Cin”? Or, will he be looking to create his own legacy, now that he’s possessed a younger male who can do his bidding?

2. Johnny Starts To Fight Back

The difference between Marlena and Johnny is that Evans tried to fight back against the Devil a little, whereas DiMera seems a tad more comfortable with being possessed. Could Johnny start to fight Satan back? What if Chanel winds up expecting and the Devil realizes that he can use baby “Janel” for his evil plans? DiMera’s paternal instincts might kick in. Would Johnny stop the Devil in his tracks?

1. EJ And Belle

EJ is Belle’s brother-in-law (and boss), but do any other DOOL fans see some chemistry there? EJ is a single pringle, while Belle is a happily married woman still, this could all change in the blink of an eye in the land of Salem. If Shawn starts to lag in the romance department, and EJ steps up his attitude, Belle and DiMera could become a thing by the time spring hits. Or, at the very least, they might have a one-nighter, which would send Sami up the wall!
