Cast Of One Tree Hill: How Much Are They Worth Now?

Source: CW

One Tree Hill was a very successful show during its nine season run from 2003 to 2012, which of course was good news for the show’s stars. The main group of Tree Hill residents enjoyed a lengthy time in the spotlight thanks to the show’s popularity and many have gone on to continue their success in shows and movies. Others, however, have fallen by the wayside as new teen dramas have taken over, creating a new set of stars in the forefront. As the show got bigger, their paycheques got bigger and, after a few years, now is a great time to see if their One Tree Hill pay was the peak or just a launching point of celebrity level wealth.

12. Robert Buckley

Estimated Net Worth: $5 Million. Robert Buckley wasn’t even on One Tree Hill for its full run, only coming in as Clay Evans following the exit of Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton. Appearing in 57 episodes from seasons 7 to 9, the role of Clay is just one of many contributing to Buckley’s respectable net worth of $5 million. He also had a recurring role on Lipstick Jungle, American Heiress and unfortunately a starring role on the ill-fated 666 Park Avenue, which was cancelled after only one season, and his big role after the last season of One Tree Hill. Most notably he took on the role of Major Lilywhite in the series iZombie.

11. Shantel VanSanten

Estimated Net Worth: $5 Million. Along with Robert Buckley, actress Shantel VanSanten was brought in with a starring role on One Tree Hill to make up for the exit of some other stars. Her character Quinn James and Buckley’s Clay quickly became an item, and like Buckley she also has a net worth of around $5 million. Although One Tree Hill is her most recognizable role yet she has continued acting in shows like Beauty and the Beast, Gang Related, The Messengers, Shooters, The Boys and The Flash. She’s also appeared in a couple of movies and had a modeling career when she was only 15 years old.

10. Austin Nichols

Estimated Net Worth: $4 Million. Austin Nichols as Julian Baker was one of the fan favorite additions to One Tree Hill midway through season 6, earning him a starring role right to the last episode. On the show, he played a well-off movie producer and in real life doesn’t do too badly for himself either, with a worth of $4 million. Prior to the show he had roles in a few shows in films and has also had recurring roles in Ray Donovan and The Walking Dead.

9. Stephen Colletti

Estimated Net Worth: $1 Million. Luckily for Stephen Colletti his acting skills greatly improved and he was able to shed his Laguna Beach image when he joined the One Tree Hill cast as Chase Adams. As the series went on, Chase became a bigger and bigger part of the show and given his past fame on Laguna Beach it is mildly surprising his net worth comes in at only $1 million, which is not bad, but not large by Hollywood standards to say the least. While his acting credits haven’t been great since the end of One Tree Hill, he has appeared in a few made-for-TV movies and is still best friends and works closely with his One Tree Hill costar James Lafferty.

8. Jana Kramer

Estimated Net Worth: $2 Million. Jana Kramer joined the show as Alex Dupre in the seventh season and also became one of the show’s major characters. Prior to One Tree Hill, she appeared on Friday Night Lights, 90210 and Entourage, but she has found arguably more success as a singer. She showed off her singing skills on One Tree Hill and released her own studio album, which reached #5 on the country music charts thanks to her single “Why Ya Wanna.” Her acting and singing career has landed her with a net worth of $2 million, which she will continue to add to with her podcast and book with her husband Mike Caussin.

7. Paul Johansson

Estimated Net Worth: $500 Thousand. Paul Johansson of course played the notorious Dan Scott over the course of the show, and as one of the most established actors on the show, his net worth is truly surprising. He has 75 acting credits to his name, which include stints on Beverly Hills, 90210, Lonesome Dove, Highlander and Mad Men, and he won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Writing in a Children/Youth/Family Special for The Incredible Mrs. Ritchie. All of that sounds impressive, however it all adds up to $500,000, which isn’t something to scoff at, but not ideal by Hollywood standards to say the least.

He also appeared in Single Ladies and Extant as a recurring character and has been signed to Maverick Records since he was 18, adding up to a worth of $1.5 million. Hilton may be best known as Chris Keller, but he is also one of Taylor Swift’s original leading men, appearing as her love interest in her music video for “Teardrops on My Guitar.”

4. Hilarie Burton

Estimated Net Worth: $5 Million. As Peyton Sawyer, Hilarie Burton was one of the top paid stars on the show with the female lead; however, she left the show along with Chad Michael Murray after season six. Both actors cited wanting to branch out their careers away from their One Tree Hill roles, but Burton is still best known for her role on the hit show. She also appeared on White Collar, Grey’s Anatomy, Hostages and Extant, Lethal Weapon and Council of Dads. Burton has also become known for her role in Lifetime movies such as Summer Villa, The Christmas Contract (with several OTH costars) and A Christmas Wish. She married actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan in 2014 who has his own net worth of $10 million, so along with her own $5 million, Burton is doing quite well.

2. Chad Michael Murray

Estimated Net Worth: $12 Million. Chad Michael Murray landed the starring role of Lucas Scott after turning down the role of Ryan Atwood in The O.C. in favor of One Tree Hill. He made a good choice and pulled in a good buck, starring in the show for six seasons before departing and making only brief appearances in later episodes. Murray is without a doubt the most successful actor of the crew starring in films like Freaky Friday, A Cinderella Story and House of Wax, as well as having recurring roles in other hit shows like Gilmore Girls and Dawson’s Creek. Following One Tree Hill he starred in Chosen, Agent Carter, Sun Records, Star and even Riverdale. Like many of his OTH costars, Murray has also taken up starring in made-for-TV Hallmark movies such as Write Before Christmas, Road to Christmas and more adding up to a cool $12 million.

1. Sophia Bush

Estimated Net Worth $9 Million. On One Tree Hill, Sophia Bush portrayed the witty, gorgeous, talented and extremely successful Brooke Davis, much like her real life self. She appeared in several TV shows and also starred in films like John Tucker Must Die, The Hitcher and The Narrows while also becoming the lead actor on One Tree Hill, hauling in a good payday as the actor to appear in the most episodes of the show. She has continued her TV success with roles in Chicago Fire, Law & Order: SVU, and Chicago P.D. raking in a net worth estimated between $6 and $9 million.
