General Hospital News Round-Up For The Week (May 16, 2022)

Sonny Corinthos is back and is heading home to Port Charles soon; however, how will this all unfold exactly? What will Carly and Jason’s reaction be? Can fans expect some tender moments with children, grandchildren, family, and friends? General Hospital (GH) fans just love to speculate! As such, below are some GH plotline predictions for September 20 to October 1, 2021.

12. Sonny Returns Home

It might not happen this week, it should happen at some point over the next two weeks. Maybe Friday’s episode? Then, there’s the idea that GH fans could still be stuck on Friday, September 17th for a little while longer. Regardless, Sonny will return to Port Charles. Phyllis will likely help him get home. She’ll probably drive him herself. She’s been a good friend to Smike, and he’ll realize that. She’ll hold his hand the entire time, and ensure he gets to his loved ones safe and sound.

11. The Aftermath

A GH weekly preview video shows Anna and Valentin questioning Nina (with Jax in the background). At some point this week, Anna and Valentin will make it to Nixon Falls. Perhaps, Sonny points them in that direction or their investigation does. Reeves will have some explaining to do. But the silver lining in this all is that August’s blackmail of Nina will come to light so that Devane and Cassadine can find him.

10. Phyllis Needs Time

Nina will also need to explain herself to Phyllis. The two haven’t had a chance to discuss what’s gone down. Phyllis will be disgusted by what Nina has done. She’ll want to cut all ties with Reeves, despite what they’ve been through. Mike struggled so much after his accident, Phyllis will do all she can to support him moving forward.

9. Jason and Carly Update

Jarly will be okay. There’s no way the bride and groom went boom. Most fans have a major feeling about this. They may end up “late” at their wedding reception; however, viewers will learn early on the week of September 20th that they are okay. Thanks to Mrs. Wu, the two other mob bosses will have met their fate. The limos had to have been switched.

8. How Does Sonny Learn About Jarly?

Sonny learning about Jarly will likely go down one of two ways. Either Sonny will stumble into the wedding reception, stunned, or he catches Jason and Carly on their wedding night (which will also leave him stunned). It seems as if the first scenario is more plausible. After all, if Sonny storms the wedding reception before Jarly can consummate their marriage, this could and would cause more drama in the long run.

7. The Explanation

If Sonny finds them at the reception, Jarly could explain that they didn’t really “fall in love”; they were simply tying the knot to save the business. They had to “pretend” to be in love, but they didn’t “do anything” (technically the truth). The fact that Carly would go back to Sonny after all those Jarly feelings were revealed, would cause massive tension between the three. Another layer to this very complicated BFF threesome.

6. Sonny Catches Them In The Act

Then there’s the idea that Sonny could catch them in the “act”. Sonny’s pretty agitated as it is right now. He was fooled by Nina, kept from his family, and has lost time with loved ones. He’d lose it if he caught Carly in bed with another man, his best friend at that. This would create a war within the Corinthos organization, and drama beyond compare. Would Sonny be “softer” to the idea of letting Nina in, if this happened?

5. Millow Living Their Best Life

Now that she and Chase are a thing of the past, Willow and Michael will finally get to live their best (romantic) life together. No need to hide the love they have and Willow will likely move back into the Quartermaine mansion. What’s the next step for these two? Perhaps wedding bells? (For real this time!)

4. Chase and BLQ

Chase’s heart has been ripped right out from his chest thanks to Millow; however, with all he’s been through, he’s ready for a new chapter. With that said, he won’t want to “dive” right into a relationship, but he’ll likely have some “spark” moments with Brook Lynn over the next couple of weeks. Time to think of some ship names for this duo! #Chook #Base #CHLQ

3. Maxie’s World

Maxie will feel as if her entire world is turning upside down. Not only because Sonny is alive, but Nina’s role in it all, plus the Peter August factor. When she finds out what her friend did, considering her schemes as of late, she’ll likely not judge her. Plus, Nina did try to protect Louise by sending August on a wild goose chase. Jones will likely be a friend Nina can turn to when the entire town shuns her over the next two weeks. Maxie hasn’t been an angel over the years (especially when she was younger), and she may understand what motivated Reeves to do what she did with “Mike”.

2. Anna and Valentin

Back to Anna and Valentin, it sounds as if their investigation into Peter will ramp up over the next two weeks. Nina will offer them some detains about August this week, and the two will be in each other’s orbit over the next few days, as well as the week of September 27th. GH spoilers indicate that Valentin will “make a move” at that point. Does this have to do with the Peter August investigation or his feelings for Anna?

1. Finn and Liz Contemplate A Romance

Sounds like Finn and Liz will contemplate a possible romance in the coming weeks ahead. There are certainly sparks between them. Will they move forward or hold back? Not only would work get awkward if they ended up on a sour note but there’s a bigger elephant in the room to consider. Her name is Hayden Barnes.
