9. Trina Recast Speaks Up

In the wake of Mikayla’s departure, Tabyana Ali has broken her silence over being recast in the role. “I’m so grateful to have this opportunity!” Ali tweeted. “Thank y’all for the warm welcoming. I’m so happy to be in this position.” Previously, Ali had shared an Instagram post over the weekend in which she hinted at good things to come. “Some great MAGIC is coming,” she predicted. Good luck, Tabyana!

8. Sean Blakemore Has Also Left GH

When Shawn explained to Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) that he’d purchased a paper on the west coast and would be leaving Port Charles, GH fans took to social media to speculate on actor Sean Blakemore’s exit. “I appreciate you and all my wonderful supporters,” Blakemore revealed on Twitter (via Soaps In Depth). “I was absolutely not let go. It was my decision to exit the show because of other obligations.” And it felt like he’d just come back, too!

7. Mitchell Ryan Has Passed Away

Despite not being a household name, Mitchell Ryan carved a unique path through Hollywood over six decades. While viewers might recall his portrayal of Frank Smith on GH from 1993 to 1994, he had memorable roles in film (Lethal Weapon) and prime time television (Dharma & Greg). Most of all, he’ll be remembered for playing Burke Devllin in Dark Shadows: The Vampire Curse. As The Hollywood Reporter notes, he passed away at 88 years of age.

6. GH Alum Lands Prime Time Gig

Soaps vet William deVry shared that he’s landed a role on NCIS: Los Angeles. “Well lookie here,” deVry wrote on Twitter. “Official NCIS: LA press release. I read the script once. Then read it four more times. Very good episode.” The GH alum’s prime time gig will air on March 20th.

5. Ryan Paevey On Finola Hughes

Nowadays, the general consensus around Ryan Paevey is that he’s a much-missed presence on GH. But Paevey is quick to remind viewers that his early days on the ABC soap were very divisive. “[Twitter users] were so quick to remind me on a minute-by-minute, daily basis about what a terrible actor I was,” Paevey recently shared with “I didn’t really know what I was doing.”

Luckily, his character’s job at the PCPD meant that Paevey’s frequent scene partner was Finola Hughes – and he can’t say enough good things about her. “She took me aside almost on a daily basis to impart something,” Paevey added, “even if it was just to say, ‘You’re doing great.’ I was really fortunate to get to start with her.”

4. Throwing The Tension Out

Olivia recently told Sam and Carly that they needed to get away from the drama for a day – but we think the change of pace did wonders for Lisa LoCicero (Olivia), Kelly Monaco (Sam) and Laura Wright (Carly), too! “So much fun,” Wright said of their axe-throwing adventures on Instagram.

3. Pickleball!

No wonder these GH stars stay so fit! Laura Wright also shared some photos from a pickleball match between Wes Ramsey (Peter), Cameron Mathison (Drew), Cynthia Watros (Nina), Katelyn MacMullen (Willow) and herself. Can you play pickleball with five people? If not, it looks like someone forgot to attend. “Crap, I forgot,” Chad Duell (Michael) commented on the post!

2. Valentin’s Back

Good news, GH viewers: Valentin is back on the ABC set. James Patrick Stuart has been busy filming a new Disney+ show Villains of ValleyView but shared his daytime drama plans over Twitter. “Missing GH very much and happy to report Valentin will be back in March.” Port Charles just isn’t the same without him!

1. Is Peter Really Gone?

Finally, GH fans are still in a celebratory mood following the passing of Peter August. After all, it’s what viewers have been calling for, year after year. However, even in the wake of a character demise that occurred on-screen, many onlookers suspect the news is too good to be true. Could Anna have bungled that pulse-check just like Finn and Liz did last summer? has captured some of the best viewer reactions from social media, here!
