A new year full of new possibilities in the land General Hospital (GH)! Who will break up? Who will make up? Will JaSam make it the long haul? Will Anna ever find out the truth about Peter? So many questions that can easily be answered in the next 12 months that lay ahead in 2020! As such, below are some GH plot predictions for this new year.

12. Franco Jealous Of Nik

GH spoilers seem to tease some unexpected issues come the new year between Friz, and it will be all thanks to Nikolas’ return. What could cause this super couple some impending friction? Liz and Nik were the best of friends, and they even engaged in an affair at one point. As such, their relationship may cause some jealousy on Franco’s part.

11. Nik and Ava Hook Up

But, does Franco really have anything to worry about? Nik and Ava seem to be gravitating towards each other, and it is easy to see these two will dive into some sort of relationship come 2020. They may keep it casual, or it may even be a string of one-nighters at first, but Nik and Ava will hook up at some point. Who knows? They even may become a bona fide couple.

10. Kiki Returns

But, how long will Nik and Ava last? What if something comes along that has Ava far more preoccupied? According to reports, actress Hayley Erin’s (Kiki Jerome) show The Perfectionists (as spinoff of Pretty Little Liars) was canceled after its first season this past fall. With Erin out of a primetime gig, does that mean she could be making her way back to GH? If the show can bring back little Jake after a car accident, they could bring Kiki back too.

9. Summer Affair

Back to Liz and Nik, if Ava is preoccupied with Kiki (or someone who has come to town that looks a lot like Kiki), this could leave a door open for Nikolas and Liz to cross the line. Sure, the two have always been BFFs; however, there was a time they let their urges get the better of them. Could lightning strike twice with these two? Multiple lives would be shattered (once again) if they did.

8. Liz Gets Pregnant

Recycling an affair storyline between Liz and Nikolas means that the entire story could be retold once again, meaning Elizabeth gets pregnant (yet again), and she is unsure of who the father of her unborn child is (yet again). However, this time around, perhaps the writers could give her a girl, just to switch things up a notch or two.

7. Alex Fathered Peter

Peter has really tried to turn over a new leaf, but he keeps getting dragged into his past life. While it is only a matter of time before everyone finds out what he’s been up to, something that is sure to be revealed in 2020 is that he is not Anna’s son; rather, he is the offspring of her terrible twin Alex. This could leave Peter feeling more confused than ever, with the idea that there is no chance that he could lead a different life, especially if he is the son of two menacing people like Alex and Faison.

6. Anna Still Gives Him A Chance

When the truth is revealed about Peter, Maxie and Peter are sure to break up. Maxie will be upset about being lied to, and Peter won’t try and win her back because he’ll believe he doesn’t deserve her. Then there’s Anna. Knowing Devane’s spirit, she will undeniably help him to try and turn that new leaf, support him, encourage him, and be there when he needs her. She won’t allow the young man to shut her out of his life, and she’ll be persistent. After all, she may not be his mom, but she still is his aunt.

5. Nelle Stirs Up Trouble With Wiley

According to GH spoilers, the truth about Wiley’s parents is about to explode, and teasers relay that Nelle will also be released from Pentonville soon. She’ll have Wiley on the brain, and she may have ideas to gain back custody of the little boy, and leverage him against Michael. All this could cause a wedge between Michael and Sasha. It’ll just be all too much for Michael to handle, as he’ll be focused on Wiley and bringing down Nelle.

4. Willow & Chase Break Up

Willow will be devastated once the truth comes out. Finding out that her baby has passed on and how Brad tossed her child aside and covered his passing (with no funeral or grieving) — not to mention how she’s believed Wiley was her son all this time! Well, it will be a lot for her to digest. She may even feel guilty about putting him up for adoption, as things did not end up as she once thought. She may find herself moving away from Chase and gravitating closer to Michael. After all, she and Michael are the ultimate victims in this entire scheme (aside from the baby himself, and poor Lucas).

3. CarSon Breaks Up

Carly and Sonny’s relationship is like a roller coaster, and while they persevered through so much in 2019, looks like 2020 may be a downward spiral for them. Sadly, they were able to rise above the entire Dev situation and Baby Donna’s health issues; however, Sonny’s relentless need to keep Mike going through alternative treatments may cause the two to break up sometime this year. But, this is CarSon we are talking about, so it’s only a matter of time before they find each other again. It’s just a blip in their romance road.

2. Carly Turns To Jax – Just As Nina Is Ready

It’s undeniable that Nina and Jax have a spark; the chemistry between these two has been evident from day one. With that said, Nina has been with Valentin the entire time, and really “fresh” when it comes to being single. She’ll need some time to jump into Jax’s arms, and just when she’s ready to do so, Carly may enter the picture. Carly will turn to Jax as a “friend” and co-parent for support; however, Nina may take this the wrong way. In the end, Carly’s reliance on Jax (as just a friend) could cause a bit of wedge when it comes to a new relationship between him and Nina.

1. JaSam Decided To Expand Their Family

Yes, Jason and Sam are apart … for now; however, it’s only a matter of time before they are able to break free from Sam’s parole officer and the rule to stay away from each other. Nothing can solidify a reunion like a baby, and by summer, they may be ready to expand their family. The JaSam baby may even be a pleasant surprise for the couple in 2020, only to be welcomed in 2021.
