When an intrepid fan of Days Of Our Lives (DOOL) suggested on Twitter that actress Marci Miller would soon depart the NBC soap, it seemed like a typical day of social media misinformation.
However, that speculation ramped up considerably when DOOL’s very own Thaao Penghlis confirmed Miller’s exit – and then promptly deleted his tweet.
The soap insider, who goes by the handle Steve Tweets, revealed that Marci Miller, who portrays Abigail Deveraux, has decided to exit the soap in order to spend more time with her family.
Shortly after Steve Tweets posted an appreciation thread for Miller, “in honor of her fantastic performance yesterday [April 21st], and her impending seemingly permanent exit from Days”, Penghlis replied to the tweet, writing “Marci will be missed.”

The reply was captured in an image which has been repeatedly shared online.
Rumors about Miller’s contract status have been swirling for a few months now. The actress debuted on DOOL in 2016, departed in 2018 and then returned to the soap in 2020. Miller, who isn’t very active on social media, has yet to respond to the rumors.
If this leak about her departure is true, Miller’s exit may be stunning for another reason. Spoiler alert: it’s rumored that her character will be decapitated!
It’s unclear where that grisly speculation originated, as insiders refuse to confirm or deny that detail. Something so horrific would certainly take the show’s ongoing Devil storyline to a new extreme.
“People keep on asking why Marci Miller is leaving,” Steve Tweets commented later that day. “I can only repeat what I’ve been told.”
“As for how she dies… Someone else can leak that,” he added.
