Teen Mom OG: 9 Things You Didn’t Know About Amber Portwood And Matt Baier’s Relationship
For almost eight years now, audiences have come to know reality star Amber Portwood since she first appeared on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant in June 2009 with her then fiance Gary Shirley. After being selected as one of the stars of Teen Mom OG, Portwood’s life unfortunately spun out of control, but she continued to share her story. Now, she is sober, happy and even engaged to Matt Baier. Many things have caused controversy when it comes to their relationship, and despite all the negative attention, the two have stuck by each other and proved their relationship was much stronger than anyone has given them credit for. Here are 10 things you didn’t know about Amber Portwood and Matt Baier’s relationship!
9. Cheating Scandal
Unfortunately for Amber and Matt, many scandals and rumors have plagued their relationship and one of the biggest was a cheating scandal that rocked the pair in 2015. In April of that year, Amber took to her Twitter and accused her fiancé of cheating on her, writing, “Every man I give my heart to uses me and cheats onme @mattbEPT,” before just as quickly deleting the post. Of course, she didn’t delete it quickly enough and many of her followers soon rallied against Baier for cheating even as Amber quickly wrote, “We’re going to try to work it [email protected]” While some reports suggested the whole thing had to do with Baier cheating on Amber with one of his exes, it seems the whole thing was just because Matt talked to another woman and took a selfie with her when the pair were on a trip in Las Vegas. “Amber is sensitive about cheating, because of what Gary did to her,” someone close to Amer told Radar Online about the situation.
8. Upcoming Wedding
In October of 2016, Matt and Amber were planning on silencing their critics with a fall wedding, but things were only made worse for the two when Amber called the whole thing off. While many assumed that would be the end of the pair’s relationship, they have seemingly remained strong and now have new wedding plans in mind. According to Matt, the pair are planning to wed “this October. Ideally Oct. 10 because that was the day we met in person for the first time.” Additionally, Amber is planning on designing her own wedding dress, adding that is “thinking something with a late ’40s to early ’50s style.”
