Now that Skyle is together and reunited, will they head back to Genoa City? How will the Moustache react to Vicky’s engagement news? Who has Mariah, and what other plot twists could unfold? Young and the Restless (Y&R) fans just love to speculate on storylines! As such, below are some Y&R plotline predictions for August 9th to August 20th, 2021.

12. Skyle Gets Married In Italy

Summer has some news that will catch Phyllis and Nick off guard this week. Could she and Kyle have eloped? When we last saw the duo, they embraced, kissed, and Kyle told her he was bringing her back home. However, with actor Michael Mealor (Kyle) on his way out, will Skyle decide to live their happily-ever-after in Milan? That would certainly “stun” Phick.

11. Jack and Phyllis Commiserate

Another hint that Skyle isn’t returning to Genoa City anytime soon is the fact that Phyllis and Jack will “commiserate” this week. Could they both be down in the dumps that their children aren’t coming home? Could they be upset that Skyle married without them in attendance? Phyllis worked so hard to expose the truth about Tara and Sally. If Summer and Kyle decide to stay in Italy, she may feel as if it was all for nothing.

10. Ashland Fights For Harrison

Now that Tara is in the slammer, Ashland might fight for full custody of Harrison. Y&R spoilers hint at a power struggle between Locke and Jack. Kyle is off in Italy (surely, if he stays, he’ll organize Harrison to be brought to the country), so at the moment, Jack is in charge of his grandson. Locke may show up at the mansion, demanding he take his “son”, and Abbott will deny him this request. Jack has a heart, so he’ll allow Ashland visits and access to Harrison, but the little boy is an Abbott, and he won’t allow the Locke-Ness Monster to outright take him. Will Ashland have a leg to stand on? He’s not the boy’s biological father, after all.

9. Will Sally Stay On At JVC?

Y&R spoilers for the week of August 9th suggest that Lauren will learn all about Sally’s involvement in running Summer out of town. If Skyle decides to stay in Italy, will Lauren fire Sally or keep her on board? She might feel obligated to give Summer her job back if she returns; however, if she doesn’t, would she let go of Spectra anyway? The redhead has done an amazing job running the company. Lauren is all about what’s “best for business”. She may place her emotions aside and give Sally a warning, but keep her.

8. Victor’s Dismay

Across town, Vicky will announce her engagement to the parental units, and it sounds like there’s a good chance the Moustache won’t be overly pleased with the news. He’ll present Vicky with an offer in the days after, so could he try and sway her to break off her wedding plans?

7. The Moustache Threatens

Y&R spoilers also imply that Victor will visit Ashland during the week of August 9th. He’ll question Locke’s intentions. Things are moving fast and furious between Ash and Vic, so it’s no wonder that Victor will raise an eyebrow over the couple’s quickie engagement. There’s also a good chance that the Moustache threatens the Locke-Ness Monster at this point. If he breaks his daughter’s heart, Newman will retaliate.

6. All Hands On Deck

Y&R spoilers for the week of August 16th indicate that Victor will take matters into his own hands. Does this have to do with Ashland and Victoria, or possibly Mariah, who’s still missing? Abby is set to get a cryptic message from Copeland this week. Could this text imply that the Newman-Abbott-Chancellor baby is gone? Maybe it’s a threat that Mariah wants to take off with the infant? If Abby turns to Victor, he’ll place all his resources towards finding Copeland and his grandchild.

5. The Cassie Factor

Victor may also worry about Mariah. While the two have never had a tight bond, he and her twin Cassie were close. The Moustache isn’t overly close to Sharon anymore, but as she worries about her daughter, Victor will show an empathetic heart. He can be calculating when it comes to business but does have a soft spot for his grandchildren. Copeland is technically part of the Newman fold, especially as she’s linked to Sharon and now Abby. He may not only worry about the baby she is carrying but Mariah, too.

4. Devon Takes Action

Y&R spoilers for the week of August 16th also note that Devon will reach out to PI Denise Tolliver for assistance. Is this to help locate Mariah? He’s in the loop regarding Copeland, and Abby may tell him about the text message she got from her surrogate. Devon knows Mariah, so if the message is overly cryptic, he too may start to get worried about his friend. Can Tolliver help finally crack this case?

3. Rey Starts Digging

Regardless of whether the Moustache or Devon add the assist, Rey will launch an investigation into Mariah’s disappearance. Sharon has been worried about her daughter and that concern will grow over the next two weeks. Anyone who knows Copeland sees that she wouldn’t just take off like this, even if she was feeling “stifled”. She would’ve turned to Tessa or Sharon first, and she likely would’ve been upfront with Abby.

Many fans believe Stitch or Max is behind Mariah’s disappearance. It could be Chance who’s taken Mariah to protect the baby from an unknown enemy. What if it’s Nina? What if Chance’s mom is pretending to support the idea of surrogacy, but secretly doesn’t approve? Could Nina have snapped? Hard to say. What if Ian Ward or someone from Mariah’s past is behind this? Could it be someone from Tessa’s past?

Lastly, Y&R spoilers hint that Chelsea will “feel the waters” around a Chadam reunion. Added related teasers imply that Kevin will still be quite suspicious of Adam. With Chloe always hating on Newman but now seeing a different side to her BFF’s ex, could something happen between Adam and her? It would make for a very interesting storyline!
