If there’s one thing we’ve learned about Victoria Konefal, the actress clearly knows her value to Days Of Our Lives (DOOL). She’s been very upfront with the press about her gratitude for the role of Ciara Brady, but just as candid about her desire to leave Salem for other projects.
As reported by Soaps.com, Konefal revisited her stance on DOOL on a recent episode of Not Too Deep with Grace Helbig. This interview occurred after the star dropped from a series regular to a recurring contract.
“[The show] wanted me back for another year,” Konefal says about the period following her initial hiatus, “and I was like, ‘Hey, I can’t do it. I did quit for a reason. I love y’all, appreciate you so much, but understand me and where I’m coming from.’”
“My artistic integrity was no longer being fulfilled,” she added about her time in Salem.

Konefal has been a steady fixture in DOOL’s ever-present Devil storyline. However, with the Devil moving from Marlena (Deidre Hall) to Johnny (Carson Boatman), it’s unclear whether Ciara’s unborn baby with Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) is still Satan’s focus.
And that’s just fine for Konefal, who is looking to enjoy her recurring status.
“Auditions are really slow right now. I’ve gotten a couple of ‘Almosts’, a couple of films,” the DOOL star explained. “I do have something on the horizon.”
“A friend of mine is producing a film in the South, and he pitched it to me,” she continued. “I can’t really talk much about the title or the storyline, but I like it. So, I think I’m gonna go ahead and take some time off and do that.”
“I might be putting on my cowgirl hat,” she added.
It’s unclear how long Konefal’s exit will last, as it sounds like her absence might be contingent on other projects.
