The Cast Of Desperate Housewives: Where Are They Now?

It has been almost  a decade since the hit show “Desperate Housewives” took the nation by storm. The show was an instant success. In its first year, it won six Emmys, a Golden Globe and two Screen Actors Guild Awards; however, after eight seasons and 180 episodes, the show came to a close in 2012. Let’s see what the cast has been up to since then!

Jesse Metcalfe

Jesse Metcalfe – who played gardener John Rowland and had a relationship with Gabrielle Solis – had a starring role on the television show “Chase” (2010-2011) and current stars on the TV show “Dallas.”

Kyle MacLachlan

Kyle MacLachlan’s character Orson Hodge married Bree Van de Kamp who was played by Marcia Cross. Since “Desperate Housewives” wrapped, he has guest starred on “How I Met Your Mother,” “Portlandia,” “Made in Jersey” and “The Good Wife.”

Andrea Bowen

Andrea Bowen – who portrayed Julie, Susan Mayer’s daughter – currently models for Miss Selfridge and has had a role in the film “G.B.F.” and the TV series “Scandal.”

Doug Savant

Doug Savant – who played Tom Scavo, Lynette Scavo’s husband – has guest starred in a number of shows including “Vegas,” “Rizzoli & Isles,” “Drop Dead Diva” and “Criminal Minds.”

Shawn Pyfrom

After finishing his eight-year run as Bree Van de Kamp’s gay son Andrew, Shawn Pyfrom has guest starred on “Rizzoli & Isles” and appeared in the TV movie “Killing Lincoln.” He recently opened up to the public about his struggles with drug addiction, alcoholism and his recovery.

Ricardo Chavira

Ricardo Chavira played Carlos Solis, Gabrielle Solis’ husband. Since “Desperate Housewives” ended, he has appeared in the videogame “Dead Space 3” and he has a starring role in the sitcom “Welcome to the Family.”

Dana Delany

Dana Delany played the role of Katherine Mayfair on “Desperate Housewives” before she left the series to star in the TV show “Body of Proof.”

Alfre Woodard

Alfre Woodard, who had the role of Betty Applewhite on the show, will be playing the role of the first female President of the United States in the political drama pilot “State of Affairs.”

James Denton

James Denton – who played Mike Delfino, the mysterious new neighbor who becomes Susan Mayer’s love interest – has a starring role in the Christian musical drama film “Grace Unplugged.”

Brenda Strong

This Emmy-nominated actress, who narrated the show as the deceased Mary Alice Young, is currently starring on the drama series “Dallas” as Ann Ryland Ewing and she has also guest starred on the TV series “Scandal.”

Nicollette Sheridan

Nicollette Sheridan played one of the most notable characters on “Desperate Housewives,” troublemaker Edie Britt. The Golden Globe-nominated actress recently announced that she was looking for a network for a half hour comedy series that she is writing and she was recently granted a new trial in her case against ABC/Touchstone TV for being suddenly let go from the show.

Marcia Cross

Marcia Cross – who played Bree Van de Kamp, the seemingly perfect housewife who struggled to save her marriage – has been laying low since the show finished its run in 2012. Although the Emmy-nominated actress had decided to take a break from acting to focus on motherhood, she is currently looking for work.

Felicity Huffman

Felicity Huffman won an Emmy and two Screen Actors Guild Awards for her portrayal of Lynette Scavo, a former businesswoman turned stressed out mom of four. She has kept busy since the series finale, with a lead role in the legal drama “American Crime” and the independent film “Cake” opposite Jennifer Aniston.

Teri Hatcher

Teri Hatcher had a starring role on “Desperate Housewives” as Susan Mayer, which earned her a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Since the show ended, she hasn’t had too many acting gigs; however, she is supposed to have a role in the upcoming film “Transformers: Age of Extinction.”

Eva Longoria

Eva Longoria’s performance as Gabrielle Solis, the unhappily married ex-model, catapulted her into stardom. She is currently a spokesperson for L’Oréal and Sheba cat food and an executive producer for the comedy-drama series “Devious Maids.” A year ago, she completed a Master’s Degree in Chicano and Chicana Studies at Cal State University Northridge.
