12. Tensions Rise Between Hope and Thomas

There’s a time for civility and a time for action. And when the dialogue about Douglas’ future stalls, Hope will pay a surprise visit to the Forrester mansion. She’ll ask Douglas, point-blank, whether it was his idea to spend the night, or Thomas’ idea. Whatever the boy says in response, the Forresters will surely see Hope’s inquisition as an aggression.

Douglas will feel a lot of pressure as he’s torn between Thomas (his true father) and Hope and Liam (whom he loves like parents). Will he feel as though he’s to blame somehow? Kids are quick to absorb that kind of tension!

Brooke has already entertained the theory that Taylor is using Douglas as a means of getting closer to Ridge. Liam should remember that it was Thomas who risked his own life to free him from prison last year; why would Thomas do that, if he still had romantic feelings for Hope? Still, nobody can blame Brooke for mistrusting Thomas, and she’ll let her fears do the talking.

If the growing conflict over Douglas doesn’t force Ridge to pick a side, the latest altercation between Brooke and Taylor might! Will this colorful confrontation be the moment that forces Ridge to finally reveal his allegiance?

Brooke’s reaction to Lina will be complicated. On one hand, she’ll be relieved that Deacon has moved on and that Ridge might cool his jets about her ex. For these reasons, Brooke might take a genuine interest in Lina, making her susceptible to the redhead’s plans. Will Sheila befriend Logan with a sympathetic ear?

When Deacon first realized that his new love interest was actually Ms. Carter, thanks to her missing toe, many viewers assumed the scene would close the loop on that plot detail. So will Sheila’s missing toe upend her disguise as she tries to get closer to Finn?

Let’s break down Sheila’s latest B&B visit: Last summer, Sheila returned to L.A. Her storyline’s second act began this spring, when she became a fugitive from the law and snuck around in the shadows. And now, thanks to her new costume, Sheila can return to public life and hide in plain sight. But make no mistake: this is Sheila’s third act — and her last (for a while) — so someone’s bound to identify the redhead soon. So, who will it be? Thomas? Ridge? Bridget?

2. Quinn Is Gone

Now Quinn is definitely someone who could recognize Ms. Carter’s scheme, but as viewers know, actress Rena Sofer has departed the show. Such a shame. However, the star recently confessed that B&B writers “didn’t know what to do with Quinn”, so perhaps she’ll return to L.A. (with a recast portraying the role) and have her long-awaited reunion with Sheila. But for the next few weeks (at least), we shouldn’t expect to see Ms. Fuller.

1. Li Will See Through Lina… Eventually

Nobody has ever looked at Sheila with the intensity that Li has. And given their recent history, Finn’s mother is trying her best to overcome traumatic memories of Sheila’s violent side. So there’s a strong chance that Li will have deep suspicions about Lina, whenever they meet. However, it’s unlikely that B&B will place these two in the same area over the coming weeks. After all, Sheila needs a little time to enjoy her umpteenth chance at freedom!
