We Weigh In: With So Many General Hospital Character Exits, Who Is Next?

General Hospital (GH) fans have been on the edge of their seats this week thanks to a bomb explosion storyline, which has caused massive chaos. Not only have some suffered terrible injuries, but two characters, Dev Cerci (Ashton Arbab) and Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson), have passed away. This begs the question, with all the recent GH exits … who will be next on the chopping block?

Let’s rewind a bit. Fans have seen quite many characters walk away from the land of Port Chuckles recently. While Briana Lane (Brook Lynn) was a temporary replacement for actress Amanda Setton during her maternity leave, based on BLQ’s exit (pregnancy test and all) in mid-November, it seems as if she’ll be out of the picture for quite some time. Then, there’s Inga Cadranel’s (Harmony) quiet exit from the show, in which the actress announced this on her Instagram, while the character has slowly moved away from the canvas.

Reports also indicate that William deVry (Julian) and Emme Rylan (Lulu) are both set to leave the land of GH soon, and this is all thanks to some cryptic social media posts on their Twitter and Instagram handles.

Is there anyone else leaving the show? The soap opera seems to be trimming its cast down at the moment.

Let’s take a closer look at this bomb storyline. While Lulu’s exit might center around her coma and the real possibility that she might not survive, what if Lulu ends up recovering? Could she and Dante profess their love for each other, and then decide to start a fresh new chapter outside of Port Charles, thus opening the door for Dante (and actor Dominic Zamprogna) to leave the show? After all, why bring back Falconeri if there is no bona fide Lulu-Dante reunion?

There is no real word on Franco’s recovery as of this moment, so could his surgery hit a bump, causing him to pass away this week too, thus adding to the casualties that will continue to haunt Julian for what he did?

Lastly, there’s Sasha. She’s still struggling to stay alive thanks to her overdose at the hands of Cyrus Renault. While if she lives, the storyline between her, Chase, Willow, and Michael could get complicated, her passing away would also add a layer of guilt for both Willow and Michael, not to mention Chase. Still, it would give the Corinthos’ more than a good reason to annul their recent marriage, despite the feelings they have developed for each other.

The possibilities are endless. With that said, no viewer wants to see the cast slim down any further, as many of the above mentioned are fan favorites; however, if this is a budget issue, more will inevitably have to go, or have their screen time dwindle.
