For a mother who generally avoids posting about her family life, Sarah Jessica Parker shared a rare photo of her children on Instagram.
Yesterday Parker took to Instagram to wish her two young daughters a very happy birthday. “Happy Birthday to our lovely, funny, dear, surprising, sparking and beloved Loretta and Tabitha who today are 7 years old. Let the celebrations begin. X, sj,” she wrote. The 51-year-old actor included a photo of the two girls playfully running in the grass.
Parker and her husband, 54-year-old Matthew Broderick, had their twin daughters – Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge – via a surrogate in June 2009. Speaking about their decision to use a surrogate, Parker told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush, we’ve been trying to expand our family for a number of years and we actually have explored a variety of ways of doing so.” She added,“This was one of the things we discussed with seriousness that had real possibilities for us.”
When she found out she was having twins, Parker’s excitement doubled. “We didn’t expect it. I think after a certain amount of time, you tend to hold your hopes at bay a bit so as not to be disappointed. One really would have been thrilling and we would’ve felt incredibly lucky. And two was a comedy!”
The couple also have a 13-year-old son, James Wilkie.
