Emily O’Brien will join the Days Of Our Lives (DOOL) cast as Gwen, beginning on June 5, according to Soap Opera Digest.
Gwen will first appear on the DOOL canvas as a friend of Claire Brady’s (Olivia Rose Keegan) at Bayview psychiatric institution. But she’ll also have a connection to another character in Salem, namely Jake (Brandon Barash).
“In order to put an end to this situation with the people who are after him, Jake has to track down his ex, the mischievous Gwen,” DOOL Head Writer Ron Carlivati said. “I don’t want to give too much away. She is kind of the key to him resolving the issues with these bad people.”
Jake only just arrived on the scene a few weeks ago. And his uncanny resemblance to Stefan DiMera has Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus) convinced that he’s her late husband.
“It will also be interesting to see how Gabi reacts when she finds out that Jake has an ex-girlfriend,” Carlivati added.
Playing Gwen on DOOL won’t be O’Brien’s first stint on a soap. She got her start playing Jana Fisher on Young And The Restless from 2006 to 2011 and has mainly done voice work on video games and television series since then.
