As the search for Mariah heats up, Young and the Restless (Y&R) fans will have their eyes glued to this storyline over the next two weeks. Will she have the baby in captivity? Will Copeland be rescued? Who is her kidnapper? So many questions, so few answers! As such, below are some Y&R plotline predictions for August 23rd to September 3rd, 2021.

12. Mariah Will Give Birth

Mariah’s bound to give birth either this week or next. Y&R’s weekly preview video teases this. She’ll start to have labor pains at the beginning of this week, and give birth either on Friday’s episode or next week. While there’s a good chance this storyline is wrapped up this week, a plot twist could send it in another direction.

11. Happily Ever After

This storyline could go two ways. Mariah and the baby could be saved, just in the nick of time. All’s well that ends well, right? With Devon, Victor, Rey and Kevin all searching for Copeland and Baby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor, there’s no way that the kidnapper is slipping through anyone’s fingers. Rey will ultimately be the person who “saves” the day, but it sounds like Devon will be the one who puts “two-and-two” together.

10. A Search For Baby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor

It would be awesome if both Mariah and the baby were found and saved. However, what if Mariah is the only one that is saved? What if the kidnapper takes off with the baby? Copeland will feel gutted. She’ll feel as though she failed to keep the baby safe, as she promised. Plus, Victor, Devon, Abby and Rey would feel terrible, too. Thus, a new search would start to try to find and save the child.

9. Fans Will Find Out Who The Kidnapper Is

Fans will finally find out who the kidnapper is this week. While most believe it’s Stitch, or someone connected to Stitch (looking at you, Max or Kelly), viewers could see a plot twist. That is, it could be Nina holding the young lady hostage, or even Chance, who might be looking to “protect” Copeland and his baby from outside forces that are unknown to others. Regardless, the truth will come out this coming week.

8. Could Abby End Up Being There For The Baby’s Birth?

At some point next week, Y&R spoilers hint that Abby will take charge of a situation. Will she put “two and two” together and figure out where Copeland and her baby are? Will she get held hostage along with Mariah if she goes digging in the wrong place? Could Mariah go into labor with Abby by her side? It would be the silver lining to getting kidnapped along with Copeland.

7. Sharon Reaches Out To Adam

Sharon will be distraught this week. Will she reach out to Adam for help and emotional support? They likely won’t cross a line, but if her natural reaction to stress is turning to her ex, she may need to re-evaluate her marriage. Sharon may even feel guilty about reaching out for Adam, considering how dedicated Rey is to finding Mariah.

6. Ashland’s Treatment Hits A Snag

Across town, Y&R spoilers for the week of August 30th suggest that Ashland will suffer from a setback. Is this about his health, or something else? He’ll likely start to feel stronger and stronger this week, and then hit a brick wall. Will this “setback” be something real, or something orchestrated?

5. Victoria Begins To Doubt

Vicky may notice something that feels “off” about Ashland or his setback. She’s so preoccupied with the merger and her wedding, plus too overwhelmed by her new romance to keep her head on straight. Will Vicky begin to have doubts about Ashland, come the week of August 30th, or continue to believe whatever her fiancé tells her?

4. Elena’s Opportunity

Elena will be presented with an opportunity, come the week of August 30th. Will this be a job offer that sends her out of town? Would she even give something like this a second thought, now that she has Nate? Could Hastings be the one to offer her something at the hospital? Perhaps she could become his right-hand? Is this something she’d want to dive into? The two seem on good terms now; however, Nate being her direct “boss” could complicate things.

3. Sally’s Spying

Phyllis has won the battle, but could Sally win the war? Sally will do some spying on Phyllis and Jack in the coming days. Red almost destroyed Spectra, and the fiery redhead may want revenge. Thankfully, Sally was able to find a new job at Newman Media; however, she lost her dream job at JVC, plus any chance with her dream guy, Jack Abbott. Sally might want to get back at Phyllis, and the best way to do so is to ruin her romance with Nick. Sometimes, revenge is best served cold.

2. Chemistry Between Phyllis and Jack?

While Sally spies on Phyllis and Jack, she may notice a bit of chemistry between the exes. Her wheels could start spinning. If Phyllis ever crossed the line with Jack, Nick would dump her in an instant. Could Sally place Abbott and Summers in a compromising position, and alert Nick to it? Or could Spectra manipulate or scheme enough to create an illusion between Phyllis and Jack, where they would want to reunite? She may want to swoop in and take Nick for herself! So many ways this storyline could pivot.

1. Moses and Faith Moving Too Fast?

Despite Faith’s recent mishaps, both she and Moses are pretty clean-cut kids. Winters seems like a dream boyfriend to most parents (and teenagers) alike. He’s kind, sweet, smart and respectful. This is why Nick’s overprotectiveness seems a bit unnecessary, but Newman has every reason to be a tad worried after everything Faith has been through. These two shared a kiss, but in the next two weeks, could the teens kick their relationship into high gear, giving Nick (and Sharon) real cause for concern?
