A new year brings new hope, new goals, and new dreams; however, in the land of Genoa City, a brand-new year also means new romances, new adventures, and new drama! What will come to be on The Young and the Restless (Y&R) in 2021? Hard to say, but it is fun to speculate! Below are some Y&R plotline predictions for 2021.

13. Faith Will Continue To Spiral With Her Drinking

As Faith overheard her parents talking about her drinking recently — and she knows that they know it’s linked to Jordan — she and Jordan will be on high alert, and one step ahead of them. Y&R spoilers for January do indicate that Nikki will get more closely involved with Faith; however, with constant reminders of how Cassie passed away, and how Nick and Sharon can’t lose another child, Faith and her drinking will continue to spiral this year.

12. The Worst Occurs

It will be a hard thing for many viewers that witnessed Cassie’s passing, but all arrows are pointing to the idea that Faith’s drinking could spiral to the point where she’s involved in a drunk driving accident. She’ll land in the hospital, and things will be scary as her condition will be “touch and go.” Faith will make it through, but there will be many hard and emotional moments along the way.

11. Sharon and Adam

What if there is a misunderstanding around Faith’s drunk driving accident? What if Faith reaches out to Sharon, but her mom is preoccupied with the very man Faith loathes. What if Sharon and Adam cross the line during a time when Faith needs her the most? Not only will Sharon go out of her mind if Faith ends up in the hospital, but she will also feel a load of guilt if she wasn’t there for her daughter because she was “there” for Adam.

10. Chelsea Struggles To Recover

Speaking of Adam, it’s clear that Chelsea will struggle with her recovery. Y&R spoilers are already hinting at this. As Lawson cannot talk, walk, or even make facial expressions, she’s an easy target for abuse. Could someone hold her back in this process? Could a nurse or doctor linked to her recovery purposely try to sabotage her? This is a possibility, as Chelsea won’t be able to communicate with anyone.

9. It’s Adam

Could Adam decide to keep Chelsea down? He’s going to get closer to Sharon this year. He may believe that keeping Lawson in the state she’s in means that he can finally be with Sharon, without all the repercussions of “losing” Chelsea. Or he may realize that keeping Chelsea down means that Sharon will reach out. If Chelsea gets better, Sharon will withdraw support.

8. Naya and Amanda

Naya will continue to push Amanda away, and Sinclair will grow even more frustrated with her bio mom’s lack of emotion and regret for what she’s done. Naya seems to regret Amanda finding her more than giving her and Hilary up for adoption. But, as 2021 progresses, Naya may need something from Amanda that will pull these two ladies closer together.

7. Imani Has A Medical Emergency

What if Naya’s other daughter, Imani, suffers a medical emergency where she needs blood or bone marrow donated from a family member? She might need something of that nature, and Amanda will be her only match. Sinclair is a strong woman, but she also has a heart of gold, and she’ll oblige if it means saving her bio sister’s life.

6. All Three Eventually Form A Bond

It’ll be a rocky 2021, but Amanda will eventually form a bond with Naya and Imani. Imani will see another side to her sister, and the young ladies will be the first to become close. Imani will be the bridge that brings Naya and Amanda together. They’ll still have their disagreements, but by the time December hits, they could all be celebrating the holidays together.

5. Chabby Struggle To Have A Baby

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that Chabby will struggle to have a baby this year. A medical issue with Abby from her past miscarriage will arise, and the couple will deal with obstacle after obstacle as the months go by. It will eventually be resolved, and Chance and Abby may conclude that in vitro fertilization is the only way to proceed. This procedure has been known to cause multiple births. With Abby’s continued dreams about having triplets, could Chabby welcome (or expect) three blessings to join their little family this year?

4. Victoria Won’t Get Over Billy

Vicky is a tad jealous over the Bi-Li relationship and is seemingly using their kids to veer Billy away from Lily and ruin romantic their plans. This will continue for a while. But, at the end of the day, Victoria left Billy because she thought he cheated on her with Amanda. This will hold her back from going full-force on trying to break the Bi-Li romance. Until the truth comes out.

3. Billy’s Faced With A Hard Decision

Y&R fans know that Victor lied to Vicky about Billy’s so-called “affair” with Amanda. Even Lily was brought into the loop when she and Victoria were chatting about it in late 2020. The truth will be revealed in 2021, which will leave Billy with a hard decision. Once Vicky realizes her dad lied about the affair, she’ll also realize she should’ve never ended her marriage with Billy. Billy will also feel conflicted. While he’s got a great thing with Lily, he also had a great thing with Vicky at one point. Should he reunite his family, or start a life with someone new?

2. Mariah and Tessa

Could 2021 be the year that Mariah and Tessa finally get hitched? Sadly, the couple isn’t profiled as much as they should be, but they seem very happy together and have been through a lot in the past. If they don’t get married, could the two break up? Could Tessa’s music career have her too busy to be in a relationship with Mariah? Could another love be on the horizon for Copeland?

1. Jack and Sally

Jack seems to have a nice admiration for Sally, so this “relationship” could go two ways. There is quite an age difference between them, so it might either turn into a father-daughter friendship or become romantic. Despite the years between them, they are both adults at the end of the day! Either way, Jack and Sally will get closer in 2021 — to the point where Jack may not only go to bat for Sally but also help her with career goals. He may even go against anything that Summer and Kyle say about Spectra. The romance or friendship will create friction within the Abbott family.
