An Official ‘Friends’ Cookbook Is In The Works With More Than 90 Recipes From The Show

After being rumored for so long, a Friends-themed cookbook has officially been announced!

The Friends the Official Cookbook, written by Amanda Nicole Yee, will be released on September 22 and is packed with over 90 recipes inspired by the characters from the beloved sitcom.

Were you ever interested in having a taste of Monica Gellar’s cooking or Rachel Green’s iconic Trifle? – “What’s not to like? Custard: good. Jam: good. Meat: good!” Well, the cookbook will include dozens of dishes that were actually featured on the show, from Phoebe’s faceless foods to the group’s classic Friendsgiving feast.

Each recipe will include step-by-step instructions and modifications to accommodate home cooks of all levels. The episodes of the show are also paired with each recipe, so once you’re done cooking, you can watch the episode that matches the dish you just made – like Joey’s meatball sub. In “The One with The Ride-Along” Chandler, Ross and Joey are riding in a cop car when they think someone is firing at them. Joey covers Ross, which makes Chandler jealous, but in reality, Joey was just trying to save his meatball sub.

The Friends the Official Cookbook announcement comes just after news of the Friends reboot being postponed until it is safe to have a live audience. The ongoing public health crisis has delayed the production of all television shows and film projects indefinitely, and the HBO Max Friends reunion will likely get a fall premiere date.

“At first we thought, shows will be delayed for a month or two at the most, and now it seems like it’s going to be far longer than that,” Bob Greenblatt, WarnerMedia Entertainment and Direct-to-Consumer chairman, told the Variety. “We’re holding out for being able to get this special done hopefully by the end of the summer if the stars align and hopefully we can get back into production.”

HBO Max announced the unscripted Friends reunion special in February. The entire cast — including Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc — will return to the comedy’s original soundstage, Stage 24, on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank, California, for a celebration of the series.

Friends the Official Cookbook is available to preorder at select retailers.
