Being famous certainly has its perks – wealth, fame and influence, to name a few. However, it can have some serious drawbacks – stalkers being pretty high on the list. Here is a list of 20 celebrities who have been stalked!

20. Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian has had a couple of stalkers. Dennis Shaun Bowman was one of them. He repeatedly turned up at her personal appearances, sometimes with his face painted like the Joker, prompting her to get a restraining order. Bowman defied the restraining order by contacting her via Twitter. Another stalker showed up at her home with luggage a couple of years ago, claiming that he had plans to stay with her and that he was working with her on her reality show.

19. Alec Baldwin

Alec Baldwin had a stalker by the name of Genevieve Sabourin, a Canadian actress and publicist. She alleges that two had a romantic and sexual relationship while the “30 Rock” star testified that they had only met once and afterwards she had harassed him with emails and phone calls, going so far as to show up at an event he was hosting and at his Manhattan homes. Sabourin was sentenced to seven months in jail last November for aggravated harassment, stalking, attempted criminal attempt and harassment.

18. Ellen Page

Ellen Page’s stalker harassed her via Twitter. Joshua Michael Myers was sending the Oscar-nominated actress threats that included “I’m going to murder Ellen Page. She’s Dead” and “Ellen Page if you continue to date Alexander [Skarsgard] I will K-1-L-L you in public in then next year. Be it in a club, in a restaurant, or when you’re signing autographs.” A judge ordered Myers to stay away from Page and not contact her for three years.

In 2012, Kylie Minogue alerted the police after she received threatening messages from a fan via Twitter. Unfortunately this wasn’t her first encounter with a deranged fan. In 2003, she received 700 letters from a fan in one year. The letters began as friendly, but became increasingly aggressive, prompting the star to call the police.

16. Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow was stalked by a pizza deliveryman over a decade ago. Dante Soiu was convicted of stalking the “Iron Man” star after he sent her pornographic letters and packages, along with thousands of emails, candy, flowers and pizza. After being found guilty, Soiu was sent to a psychiatric facility.

Last year was not Justin Bieber’s year. In addition to all the bad publicity he received, Mark Staake and his nephew Tanner Ruane were plotting to kill and castrate the troubled pop star with garden shears. Sources say that they were operating under the instruction of Dana Martin who is currently serving two life sentences for killing a 15-year-old girl. All three men were indicted for two counts each of first degree conspiracy to commit murder and solicitation to commit murder.

14. Uma Thurman

Uma Thurman’s stalker Jack Jordan was convicted of stalking and harassing her back in 2008 and was ordered not to contact the star for five years. Before his conviction, he had been sending the “Kill Bill” star’s father disturbing emails and packets of creepy writings and drawings to the actress. In 2010, Jordan was arrested again for attempting to contact the actress, but was released the following year. He plead guilty to a misdeamenor and was required to move back in with his parents in Maryland and complete a two year treatment program.

Justin Timberlake had a stalker in 2009 by the name of Karen McNeil, a 48-year-old women who was described as “obsessed and mentally unstable.” She had trespassed on his property three times and left a letter on one occasion that has been described as “bizarre.” The singer/actor was granted a three-year restraining order.

12. Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus’ stalker – Jason Luis Rivera – was arrested at her home in 2012 after he climbed her fence and began banging on her door. When police arrived and searched him, they found money, notes, ID and a large pair of black and green scissors. Rivera kept claiming that the singer was his wife and that the two were friends. Cyrus responded with a restraining order.

Madonna’s stalker, Robert Dewey Hoskins, broke into her estate and threatened to slit her throat from ear to ear if she did not marry him in the late ‘90s. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison – which he completed – and he was later committed to a mental facility. He has since set his sights on actress Halle Berry.

Paris Hilton seems to have more stalkers than any other star. In 2010, Nathan Lee Parada was convicted of attempted burglary for trying to break into the socialite’s home with a knife; he has been behind bars since his arrest. In 2011, James Rainford was charged with felony stalking after he violated a restraining order that orders him to stay away from Hilton. In 2014, Lukas Redanz was arrested outside her gated community after he told security that he was in love with the former reality TV star and had to see her. He was released shortly after.

From 2009 to 2011, Lindsay Lohan was stalked by David Corcordan. He was showing up at her home, following her out in public, sending her dozens of texts and ignoring her bodyguards’ warnings about stopping by. Richard Franco spent 193 days in jail for felony stalking and burglary and was slapped with a restraining order after he trespassed on her property three times within one weekend. Richard Dewey Hoskins, the same man who had threatened to kill Madonna, also threatened Berry’s life. He is currently locked up in a mental institution.
