A coroner’s report has revealed precisely what caused Harrison Wagner, the son of General Hospital (GH) stars Jack and Kristina Wagner, to pass away in June.

Shortly after the 27 year-old’s body was found, Harrison’s famous parents released a statement that their son had “lost his battle with addiction”. The cause of the fatality was deferred at the time.

However, a report from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner now reveals that Harrison’s demise was an “accident”. According to People, the fatality was caused by a combination of Fentanyl and Alprazolam. (Alprazolam is the generic name for Xanax.).

The coroner’s revelation arrives mere days after Kristina Wagner offered up a touching tribute to her late son, on what would’ve been his 28th birthday.

“He understood his own defects and worked hard to turn them around, to strengthen his positive attributes,” Wagner wrote on Instagram. “He was a good listener and stood up for others when they couldn’t speak for themselves.”

The GH star went on to describe how she’s processing his passing, six months on.

“Sometimes I feel like a pinned butterfly,” she explained. “There’s no second chance. There’s no see-him-again. There’s no nothing. He’s not coming back. It’s final.”

As for Harrison’s father, Jack Wagner hasn’t said anything publicly about the tragedy since late July, when he posted a video to Instagram.

“Thank you all so much for the love and kindness that you’ve sent,” Wagner said to his supportive fans. “I can’t tell you how much it’s meant to me.”
