Johnny Depp has been acting since the 1980s when he was on the television series 21 Jump Street. He has since taken on more challenging roles in movies like Edward Scissorhands, Pirates of the Caribbean and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber on Fleet Street. 10. High School Drop Out

Johnny Depp dropped out of school at the age of 16 to become a rock musician. He fronted a series of garage bands including one called The Kids, which opened for Iggy Pop.

9. Tattoo for Love

The Pirates of the Caribbean actor was once engaged to Winona Ryder and had “Winona Forever” tattooed on his arm. After the couple broke up, he had the “n” and “a” surgically removed to say “Wino Forever.”

8. Near Sighted

Johnny Depp has suffered from near-sightedness since birth and is nearly blind in his left eye. He claims that the condition cannot be corrected by surgery.

7. Food Allergy

As a child, the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory actor was seriously allergic to chocolate.

6. Out of Control

Johnny Depp was arrested for trashing a hotel room in 1994. He claimed that an armadillo was responsible, saying that he had found the animal hidden in a closet. It then went crazy, wrecking the hotel room before it leapt out the window. Kate Moss was rumored to be present when this happened.

5. Oscar Nominations

Johnny Depp has been nominated for three Academy Awards: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Finding Neverland and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, but he has yet to win one.

Johnny Depp has only been married twice. His first wife was Lori Anne Allison and, during their marriage, she worked as a makeup artist. They were married from 1983 to 1985 His second wife was Amber Heard. They were married from 2015 to 2016. He has also been engaged to three other times to Jennifer Grey, Sherilyn Fenn and Winona Ryder.
