Once again, Thomas Forrester is entertaining romantic fantasies about Hope on The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) – and actor Matthew Atkinson is sick of it!
It isn’t unusual for daytime drama performers to share weekly promos on their social media channels, especially if the promos highlight their character’s storyline.
However, when Atkinson shared B&B’s latest weekly promo in his Instagram stories, he followed it up with a weekly promo from May 4th, 2019 – when his storyline was exactly the same!
In both weekly promos, which Atkinson has lined up back-to-back, Thomas is being accused of having bad intentions toward Hope. And in both videos, Liam is repeating that Hope is his wife.

This isn’t the first time Atkinson has sounded off about B&B’s writing for his character. As soon as he stepped into the role, Thomas was rewritten as an obsessive bad guy who eventually lost custody of his son.
“Who’s happy to see Douglas back in his dad’s arms?” Atkinson asked on Instagram in November 2021. “Who also thinks he should be back living with his actual father and not pawned off to our resident daycare?”
The actor continued, “Who thinks Hope isn’t his actual mom and Thomas should open up his dating pool outside those he can hit with a pen from his desk at work?”
As it turns out, Atkinson has someone in mind to replace Hope as the perpetual love interest in Thomas’ life – Sally Spectra!
“It would be awesome, especially to have a Sally-type character,” Atkinson revealed during an appearance on Bold Live, “because to have a woman of such a strong presence to be able to push back and actually correct him when he’s kind of veering off path would be awesome, and then it would also create that extra drama.”
