Great news, Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19 fans!

ABC announced on Monday that both popular medical dramas have been renewed for another season. This news marks Grey’s Anatomy‘s move into its 18th season and Station 19‘s move into its 5th season. Executive producer and showrunner Krista Vernoff will continue to lead both shows.

Grey’s fans started questioning whether this season may be the last after stars from past seasons started making guest appearances throughout season 17. There is always some buzz around Grey’s Anatomy and when the show will decide to air its final season, but this news confirms that fans won’t have to worry about that for a while.

“The writers, directors, casts and crews of Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19 worked so hard to bring these shows to life this past season,” Vernoff said in a statement.

“Keeping each other safe on set while paying tribute to the front-line heroes and first responders has been a challenge and a privilege. I’ve been truly blown away — particularly by our tireless crews — as they reinvented the TV-making wheel. Thank you to ABC and ABC Signature for the support and extraordinary partnership through this unprecedented season. We are so grateful for the opportunity to tell more stories.”

Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19 air Thursdays on ABC.
