Jenelle and David Eason, former stars of the hit MTV series Teen Mom 2, have reportedly lost custody of three children at least temporarily after the children were removed from their home following an incident in which David allegedly shot and killed the family dog Nugget.

Outlets have reported that on Tuesday, May 28, a judge ruled that the couple will not regain custody of the kids which include Jenelle’s son Kaiser, 4, whom she shares with ex Nathan Griffith, Jenelle and David’s daughter Ensley, and David’s daughter Maryssa.

“Of course I would like for Jenelle to get them all back eventually, but certain things have to happen first,” Evans’ mother Barbara Evans, who has had custody of Jenelle’s eldest son Jace since he was a baby, told E! News after the ruling. Evans has since been given custody of Ensley since she was removed from the home. Meanwhile Kaiser is with his father and paternal grandmother, and Maryssa  is in the custody of her mother Whitney Johnson.

A rep for Jenelle said in a statement, “At this time we are cooperating with the judge and legal team from court. We have no comment at this time and we appreciate the concerns regarding our client and her children. We will continue to cooperate with the court and their decisions.”

It has been a difficult month for Jenelle after it was reported on the first of the month that her husband had shot and killed her dog Nugget after the dog allegedly “snapped” at their daughter Ensley. In a now deleted Instagram post, David seemingly defended his actions after he shared a video of Ensley and the dog on the couch and the dog snapping at the girl after she put her face close to his. He wrote alongside the video, “I dont give a damn what animal bites my baby on the face… whether it be your dog or mine, a dog is a dog and I dont put up with that s— at all. I’m all about protecting my family, it is my lifes mission. Some people are worth killing or dying for and my family means that much to me. You can hate me all you want but this isnt the first time the dog bit Ensley aggressively. The only person that can judge wether or not a animal is a danger to MY CHILD is ME.”

Within a week, MTV announced their decision to fire Jenelle from Teen Mom 2, while David had been removed from the series in February 2018 after making racist and homophobic remarks on his social media.
