Fans were crushed when Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay sent 26-year old Dean Unglert home after his emotional hometown date this past week, but this isn’t the end for Dean in Bachelor nation.
The duo headed to Unglert’s father’s home in Colorado which marked the first time the entire family had been under the same roof in eight years. The heated reunion was filled with tension and Dean opened up about his feelings of abandonment from his family after his mother’s death. The emotional night left fans heartbroken for Dean and many former Bachelor alum voiced their sadness as well through various social media posts.
Although Unglert didn’t get Rachel Lindsay’s final rose, the star has decided he isn’t giving up on love and will be returning to Bachelor nation as a cast member on Bachelor In Paradise. Dean sat down with E! News to explain his decision in heading to Mexico this summer, “I think that in the back of our head we all kind of want to find the one,” Dean said, “So if this is another opportunity then better…but I was just more sold on the fun experience that we could have in Paradise. I think we all had a good amount of fun. I’ll be excited to see it all play back.”
When asked if he was truly over Rachel, the star replied, “I had some time to clear my head and move on.” He added that the break between filming the two shows was about a month and a half.
