The 9 Most Annoying British Celebrities

Across the pond, there are a number of British celebrities who have rubbed everyone the wrong way. While some of them have a few redeeming qualities, others don’t have any – at all. All of these celebrities are disliked for various reasons. Some of them are unlikable because they are just plain annoying and only seem to care about themselves while others seem intentionally malevolent. So, who made our list of the 9 most annoying British celebrities? Have a look and see for yourself!

9. Lily Allen

Lily Allen is not especially likeable, mostly due to her poor attitude – she is combative and totally unapologetic. She can’t seem to get along with anyone – including other celebrities. Allen has sparred with Courtney Love, Cheryl Cole, Peaches Geldof, Azealia Banks, Fearne Cotton and Katy Perry. We don’t understand why she’s so argumentative. She is obviously talented; however, she comes across as someone who is desperate for attention and validation.

8. Russell Brand

Russell Brand has made a career out of doing and saying controversial things. He seems to like getting a rise out of people. He offended Jewish people everywhere when he made a joke at the GQ Men of the Year awards about Hugo Boss making amazing uniforms for the Nazis; however, his response on Twitter to GQ’s editor about the situation made things worse. He wrote: “GQ editor: ‘What you did was very offensive to Hugo Boss.’ Me: ‘What Hugo Boss did was very offensive to the Jews.’” No one was impressed.

7. Ricky Gervais

Ricky Gervais has become an incredibly controversial figure, thanks to his unique sense of humor which many find offensive. He has demonstrated time and time again that he has no issues with making fun of mentally challenged people. While doing stand up, Gervais obsessively and unabashedly used the term “mong” – a short-form for mongoloid and a derogatory term for people with Down’s syndrome – and, back in 2012, he wrote, directed and starred in a show called “Derek” that pokes fun at disabled people.

6. Chris Martin

Since hooking up with Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Martin has become increasingly more annoying. While they were married, he refused to be photographed with his wife, running blocks ahead of her to avoid being snapped. He once hit a journalist for bringing up Brad Pitt’s name in an interview, even though he had told Rolling Stone a couple of years earlier that Paltrow’s relationship with the Oscar-nominated actor kept him motivated to succeed.

5. Gordon Ramsay

Gordon Ramsay may be an excellent chef; however, the methods he employs on his two reality shows “Hell’s Kitchen” and “Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares” make him incredibly unlikeable. While we believe that he does have a superior understanding of food and running a kitchen, Ramsay’s swearing and yelling comes off as incredibly rude and condescending. According to the Gordon, the intensity that viewers see is totally real. “Of course, it’s going to look like it’s combustive, tenacious and full of drama – it is,” Ramsay said.

4. Sienna Miller

Sienna Miller was already starting to get on people’s nerves before she hooked up with Balthazar Getty; however, once her affair with the married father of four began, people really started to hate her. Maybe it was because we expected more from her. Jude Law humiliated her when he cheated on her with his children’s nanny; however, this didn’t seem to factor into her decision-making when she decided to start shacking up with Getty. Since then, she’s earned herself a reputation of being a home-wrecker, just like her ex. Maybe Jude and Sienna were perfect for each other after all.

3. Naomi Campbell

Naomi Campbell may be one of the most recognizable models from the ‘90s, but she seems to be best remembered for verbally and physically assaulting her employees. Numerous employees have come forward with stories about the abuse they suffered while working for her; however, Campbell seems unrepentant. In 2006, after eight more employees and associates came forward with claims of abuse, the supermodel was spotted wearing a t-shirt that read, “Naomi Hit Me…and I Loved It.” Classy.

2. Jude Law

Jude Law became one of the most hated male celebrities when he was caught cheating on Sienna Miller with his children’s nanny. Even though he publicly apologized to his fiancé, it was tough for the public to get over his transgression. Years later it was revealed that, around the same time, Miller had been cheating on him with Daniel Craig and that Law had asked News of the World to write that her affair with Craig predated his with the nanny.

1. Heather Mills

People disliked Heather Mills as soon as she began dating Paul McCartney; however, they truly began to loathe her once these two former lovers embarked on one of the messiest and most public divorces in recent history.  The model turned activist came off as a gold digger – she requested an astounding $250 million in the divorce settlement – and she seemed intent on ruining her ex lover’s reputation. During their bitter divorce, Mills alleged that McCartney physically and verbally abused her.
