9 Famous Celebrity Portmanteaus!

Some couples are so famous – or so disdained – that the press ends up blending their names together, creating portmanteaus. Some of these portmanteaus are so catchy that they have lasted long after the respective relationships ended. Here are 9 of the most famous celebrity portmanteaus!

9. Speidi

Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag – who earned the nickname “Speidi” – were a constant fixture in the press when they were stirring up drama on “The Hills.” These two were obsessed with being famous and were always looking for new ways to get attention, hence the couples fake split in 2010 and Montag’s 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day.

8. Brangelina

When Brad Pitt ended his marriage with Jennifer Aniston and started a relationship and a family with Angelina Jolie, the media went crazy and Brangelina was born. When it comes to these two, most people are star struck. They are both incredibly beautiful and successful and they seem genuinely in love.

7. Robsten

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart – who met and started dating on the set of “Twilight” – tried to hide their relationship from the public for years, which didn’t stop the press from dubbing them “Robsten.” Because of the popularity of the “Twilight” films, many fans want this onscreen couple to get back together, but it doesn’t look likely.

6. Vinnifer

After Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston called it quits, she went on to hook up with her co-star from the romantic comedy “The Break Up,” Vince Vaughn. The relationship ended up getting a lot of publicity, hence the nickname “Vinnifer.” We personally think that the “Wedding Crashers” got more attention than he ever wanted as a result of this relationship. He was pretty private before and after his relationship with Aniston.

5. TomKat

When Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes paraded their fledgling relationship everywhere back in 2005, they earned themselves the nickname, “TomKat.” Many people questioned the authenticity of the relationship. Cruise’s behavior during their courtship was pretty bizarre and he proposed after only a couple months of dating. Even though these two insisted that they were genuinely happy together, the marriage fizzled after only five years.

4. Bennifer

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez – dubbed “Bennifer” by the press – were everywhere back in 2002 and 2003. Everything these two did together was over the top including the “Jenny from the Block” music video, the cinematic disaster known as “Gigli” and the wedding they were planning. As a couple, these two were greatly disdained and widely criticized, so the entire world heaved a sigh of relief once they finally broke up for good.

3. Spederline

Britney Spears’ relationship with Kevin Federline was always baffling. He was one of her backup dancers with dreams of making it big as a rap star and she seemed desperate to settle down and start a family. Thankfully the relationship ended and all we have left are DVDs of their reality TV show “Britney Spears & Kevin Federline: Chaotic” and their former moniker “Spederline.”

2. Kimye

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have both been chasing the spotlight for years. While she ousted her old pal Paris Hilton to become the queen of reality TV television, West has openly claimed that he is the voice of this generation. These two are uber famous (and kind of obnoxious), so it only makes sense that they get their own catchy moniker, “Kimye.”

1. Khlomar

Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom – also known as Khlomar – were one of the cutest couples on reality television. Unfortunately, thanks to a couple of drug and cheating scandals, Klhomar is no more. Who knows – maybe these two could get back together. Rumor has it that the basketball star is trying to win his estranged wife back.
