10. Joe Jonas

Taylor Swift and Joe Jonas were a hot item once upon a time! Unfortunately he ended up falling for his co-star in “Lovebug,” Camilla Belle, and left Swifty to pursue a relationship with her. To retaliate, the singer wrote a couple of songs about Mr. Jonas including “Forever and Always” and “You’re Not Sorry.”

9. Camilla Belle

After Joe Jonas left her for Camilla Belle, Taylor Swift wrote “Better Than Revenge” about Belle! In the song, the singer doesn’t hold anything back! “She’s an actress/But she’s better known for the things that she does on the mattress.” Ouch! Swift really goes for the jugular, doesn’t she?

8. Jake Owen

Apparently, Taylor Swift’s song “Sparks Fly” was inspired by country crooner Jake Owen! The singer opened for Owen at a concert in Portland back in 2006 and rumor has it that she had a crush on him! People believe that Owen’s green eyes inspired the line, “Hit me with those green eyes, baby as the lights go down.”

7. Stephen Barker Liles

Back in 2008, Taylor Swift did a concert with Love & Theft and ended up developing a crush on one of the band member’s, Stephen Barker, so she wrote the song “Hey Stephen” for him. Taylor didn’t divulge her feelings to him at the time, but it looks like he wasn’t put off by it! “It’s totally flattering to have somebody write a song like that for you,” he told People magazine.

Taylor Swift’s song “Enchanted” is about singer-songwriter Adam Young. Swifty was pretty smitten with him and the song’s lyrics show it! “Please don’t be in love with someone else / Please don’t have somebody waiting on you.” It turns out that Young felt the same way and he recorded a romantic reply to her song!

5. Kanye West

Taylor Swift wrote the song “Innocent” for Kanye West after he rudely interrupted her acceptance speech at the 2009 VMAs. She performed it at the 2010 VMAs. Unlike some of her other songs, this one is all about forgiving the rapper for his transgression! “Everyone of us has messed up too… I hope you remember today is never too late to be brand new.”

4. Taylor Lautner

Taylor Swift’s song “Back To December” is about Taylor Lautner. Sources say that these two dated briefly after meeting on the set of “Valentine’s Day” and this song looks a lot like an apology!  “So this is me swallowing my pride / Standing in front of you saying I’m sorry for that night.” According to Swift, she was quite careless with Lautner’s feelings!

3. John Mayer

Taylor Swift and John Mayer dated back in late 2009 and early 2010 and the lyrics of the song “Dear John” indicate that it didn’t end well! “Dear John, I see it all now, it was wrong / Don’t you think 19 is too young to be played by your dark twisted games, when I loved you so? I should’ve known.” Mayer felt pretty humiliated after the song’s release and he took issue with the songwriting! “I will say as a songwriter that I think it’s kind of cheap songwriting,” he said. We think he might have a valid point!

2. Cory Monteith

Sources speculate that Taylor Swift’s song “Mine” is about the late Cory Monteith! The origins of the song are pretty romantic! “[Mine] is a situation where a guy that I just barely knew put his arm around me by the water, and I saw the entire relationship flash before my eyes. After I wrote the song, things sort of fell apart, as things so often do and I hadn’t talked to him in a couple months.” Sounds like Swift was pretty smitten!

1. Jake Gyllenhaal

Taylor Swift dated Jake Gyllenhaal for a few months back in 2010 and it looks like he inspired many of the songs from her album Red. Sources claim that the song “Begin Again” was about her transition from being with Gyllenhaal to her next boyfriend, Connor Kennedy. In the song, Swift sings “And you throw your head back laughing like a little kid. I think it’s strange that you think I’m funny ’cause he never did.”
