The Notebook, perhaps one of the most romantic movies ever made, is now 10 years old! Can you believe it?

Rachel McAdams, who starred in the film alongside Ryan Gosling, was a newcomer when she was cast in the role, having only previously acted in The Hot Chick. But by the time the film came out, Rachel was famous for the mega-hit Mean Girls.

A little known fact about Rachel is that she only had a few hours to prepare her audition for The Notebook; she got the script the night before her audition, when she was attending The Hot Chick premiere.

A lot of other more established actresses were considered for the role, including Reese Witherspoon, Ashley Judd and Britney Spears (can you imagine Brit in the role?). “I was very fortunate,” Rachel said. “I was sort of at the end of the line, I just kind of squeaked in there.”

Perhaps the strangest fact about the movie is that Rachel did not get along “in any way” on set while they were filming the movie. He had some choice words to say about Rachel — take a look at the video to see what he said!

He even asked for another actress to be brought in, but his request was denied.
