The actor, actress and their children were granted honorary Greek citizenship for their role in bringing attention to a devastating wildfire that happened near the country’s capital, Athens, back in July 2018.

Wilson learned back in 2012 in an episode Who Do You Think You Are? that she’s Greek and Hanks tweeted this past January that he was starting the year as an honorary Greek citizen.

Earlier this past month, Hanks and Wilson were spotted arriving in Greece to celebrate his 64th birthday. The actress wished him a happy birthday on Instagram.

“Happy Birthday, @tomhanks We love you so much. You are our anchor. Every day with you is a blessing,” she wrote

She also quoted the Beatles song “When I’m Sixty Four” in her post. “‘Give me your answer, fill in a form / Mine for evermore / Will you still need me, will you still feed me / When I’m sixty-four’ YES!”
