Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice is unsurprisingly not happy about her 15 month jail sentence for fraud and now she is turning the tables on her own lawyer by blaming him for everything.
On Wednesday December 3, Giudice filed a lawsuit at the Manhattan Supreme Court against her former attorney James Kridel for $5 million.
The court documents claim that Kridel “botched” her and Joe’s original bankruptcy filing in 2010 by not even meeting with her before filing the documents.
Giudice also states that he was not properly prepared for a hearing in front of the federal Bankruptcy Court trustee and creditors.
As a result Teresa and her husband Joe’s bankruptcy filings were objected to which resulted in them receiving a federal indictment charging them with bankruptcy and mortgage fraud for hiding assets when claiming the bankruptcy.
Teresa says even though he was aware of them, he did not bother to list assets such as her cars, rental property income and different bank accounts.
All of this adds up to malpractice in her mind and the reason she is now going to jail.
While 15 months in jail will not be easy, her husband Joe received a worse sentence: 41 months. Teresa will be serving her time first, starting in early January after the holiday season.
