You never get a second chance to make a first impression.
Therefore, if you’re a young actor, and you’re in need of a prom date, and you’re working your way into A-List features… just tap your co-stars on the shoulder, and say, “Hey, I’m gonna need to borrow you for a minute.”
Skyler Gisondo, one of the stars of the latest Night At The Museum, did just that. The youngster invited his co-stars Ben Stiller, and the late Robin Williams to aid him in scoring a date to his prom.
Ben and Robin were game. Ben played the straight man, while Robin went off. It was utterly delightful.
There are a few things one has to suppose, considering Skyler’s request. 1. He really liked this girl, and for some reason thought being a very successful young actor was not enough to propose an evening at the prom, so he needed help. 2. He’s actually very shy, and has been crushing on this girl for years. 3. He knew there would be stiff competition for this girl’s hand on prom night.
It was likely a combination of the aforementioned that spurred Skyler to get Robin and Ben involved. And it is awesome to see Robin being Robin for a few more candid moments. The most enjoyable aspect of the video may be Skyler and Ben reacting to Robin, and trying not to laugh.
