We’ve seen Ben Affleck as Batman, and now it’s time to take a look at Henry Cavill as Superman in the upcoming feature film, Batman v Superman. Zack Snyder is setting us up for another lackluster walk through the watered-down, overly CGI’d world of superheroes.
Is anyone genuinely looking forward to this film?
It stinks for Ben Affleck, who worked his way back from Gigli to score an Oscar for directing Argo. Now, he has said yes to something he knows is a bona fide implausibility: Playing the first Batman after three Batman films written and directed by Christopher Nolan. There is no way to come out of this smelling rosy.
It’s not Ben’s fault. And it won’t be Henry Cavill’s fault. He is a stellar Superman in look and execution, but the captain of the ship (Snyder) is not good at navigating gaping holes in story, or zeroing in on the treasure chest of potential emotion in films like these.
Apologies. Serious digression. Allow us to progress, and get to what it is we’re hoping to see: Henry Cavill reprising his Superman in the upcoming Batman v Superman.
You’ll find a stellar shot of the Man of Steel in the video below, and if you’ll notice, it looks like Superman is checking out Bruce Wayne’s Gotham City. In terms of feature films of this magnitude, it is the first time Superman will visit the home of Batman, and we thank Zack Snyder for that; however, in the same breath, is it gonna be worthwhile, or just some sad effort of forcing Superman into the Dark Knight’s city with a flimsy story.
Guess we’re gonna find out.
Check out the video below to see Henry re-caped as Superman, in a very sinister, Gothamesque CG surrounding.
