After eight months of separation and a lot of media coverage surrounding their split, HGTV star Tarek El Moussa finally filed for divorce from his wife of seven years, and Flip or Flop co-star, Christina.
Although the two rose to fame together thanks to their hit series, reports from TMZ indicate that Tarek is now seeking spousal support from his estranged wife, and interestingly enough, he is also asking the judge to block Christina from getting money from him the site reports.
While the divorce papers cite the usual irreconcilable differences, the pair are putting on a united fronts when it comes to caring for their two young children Taylor and Brayden, and both are planning on continuing their series together for the time being. A source told TMZ that the pair made the decision to continue working together on the show because it is their source of income. “It’s civilized, or as best it can be under the circumstances. They have to make it work if they want to continue monetizing what they do.”
After news broke in late 2016 that the pair had actually split back in May, they eventually addressed the media confirming their separation, and revealing they had begun dating other people. Rumors then swirled that the cause of their massive fight and split in May was after Tarek discovered “inappropriate texts” on Christina’s phone; however, a source close to the couple said, “There was never any infidelity in the marriage.”
