After a lengthy separation and highly publicized accounts of their split, Flip or Flop star Tarek El Moussa has officially filed for divorce from his co-star and wife Christina El Moussa, according to reports from People magazine.
The divorce filing comes almost a month after the pair publicly addressed their split which initially happened in May of 2016, and the HGTV stars released a joint statement: “Like many couples, we have had challenges in our marriage. We had an unfortunate misunderstanding about six months ago and the police were called to our house in an abundance of caution. There was no violence and no charges were filed.”
The two added that they have remained committed to raising their two children and will also continue to work together on their hit series for the time being.
As more information about their split has been revealed, both Tarek and Christina admitted that they have both already started dating new people, and rumors swirled that the May altercation began after Tarek found “inappropriate” texts from a contractor they were working with on Christina’s phone. Whether those rumors are true or not is unclear; however, Christina has been dating a contractor since her split from Tarek.
