The roast of pop-star Justin Bieber has been one of the most buzzed about Comedy Central ribbing segments to date. The popular feature has historically taken on the likes of James Franco, Charlie Sheen, David Hasselhoff and even the late great Joan Rivers.
After the roasting was confirmed in late January more and more details have been released including Bieber’s roast-master; none other than comedian Kevin Hart, who’s apparently good friends with the Biebs. If that didn’t take you by surprise, the list of celebrities to do the roasting just might:
All kinds of famous names from different sections of the entertainment industry have been announced to poke fun at the 21-year old star including Snoop Dogg, Shaquille O’Neal and even domestic goddess Martha Stewart!
These stars will be joined by a bevy of comedians as well including Hannibal Buress, Chris D’Elia, Natasha Leggero and Jeffrey Ross.
According to the network, it was Bieber who was constantly begging for Comedy Central network to do a roast on him and following several eyebrow raising incidents involving the young star, the network agreed. “Justin has been asking us for years to roast him. We just kept telling him to go create more source material first. We’re thrilled he listened,” stated Kent Alterman, Comedy Central’s President of Content Development and Original Programming.
Kevin Hart has reassured Bieber and viewers that he will not be taking it easy on the singer and we can’t wait to see what Martha Stewart comes up with.
The roast airs on Comedy Central on March 30.
