Being the first person eliminated in any competition is a tough blow, but it had to be somebody and on the Tuesday, September 25 episode of Dancing With the Stars, the first contestant was sent home.
After an exciting night one on Monday, September 24, episode two followed up by announcing the six couples who were in jeopardy and who would have to dance again for more votes and they were: Nancy McKeon and Val Chmerkovskiy, Nikki Glaser and Gleb Savchenko, John Schneider and Emma Slater, Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten, Mary Lou Retton and Sasha Farber, and Danelle Umstead and Artem Chigvintsev.
With those couples revealed, many were surprised to find that “Grocery Store Joe” who scored the lowest score of the night in episode one with a 14 was safe!
Slowly it was revealed that Schneider and Slater were safe and would not have to dance again, leaving only five couples in jeopardy.
After the second round of dances in which the contestants fought to show they had improved in only 24 hours, it was finally announced that comedian Nikki Glaser and her pro partner Gleb Savchenko had been eliminated first.
“You know, it sucks. I’m not going to lie. I really, really like doing this show and I really had such a great time,” said the comedienne, who earned an 18/30 for her salsa. “I hope that I just proved that I did the scariest thing I’ve ever done and I tried my best. … It was so fun! Thank you for having me.”
Of course the night also held a lot of excitement as the audience was introduced to the full cast for the very first season of the official Dancing With the Stars spinoff, Dancing With the Stars: Juniors which premieres Sunday, October 7.
Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays (8 p.m. ET) on ABC.

12. Sky Brown and JT Church
Sky Brown has certainly drawn attention, especially on social media, thanks to her skateboarding and surfing skills, and lets hope she can keep her balance on the hardwood of the dance floor as well! At only 10-years-old Brown is one of the youngest females to compete and win a medal at a professional skateboarding competition and is already using her fame to help empower other young girls around the world. She will be dancing with junior pro JT Church and the duo are mentored by up-and-coming Dancing With the Stars pro Alan Bersten.
