It has been a long road for former Olympian Bruce Jenner, 65, to finally reveal his true self to the world as woman Caitlyn Jenner and chose to do so as the July 2015 cover model for Vanity Fair magazine.
On Monday June 1, Vanity Fair took to their Instagram to give a sneak peek of the photo shoot and the cover which has Caitlyn posing in undergarments with the words “Call me Caitlyn” written across.
In the post they also shared a clip from a video shot from the photo shoot which was done in Jenner’s Malibu home and has Caitlyn, formerly known as Bruce, talking over the video. “Bruce always had to tell a lie. He was always living that lie. Everyday, he always had a secret from morning til night. Caitlyn doesn’t have any secrets. Soon as the Vanity Fair cover comes out… I’m free,” Jenner stated of the biggest time in his life.
For the shoot and accompanying article, author Buzz Bissinger “was given unfettered access to Jenner and her family, chronicles the tensions, traumas, and courage that shaped Caitlyn into the woman you see today.”
Bruce’s journey to becoming Caitlyn has been long and trying as it has been heavily publicized starting from speculation to confirmed news that he was indeed transitioning. Along with a special with Diane Sawyer and a special on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Jenner will be getting his own E! docu-series following the transformation.
The revealing story behind Caitlyn Jenner and the exclusive photos will be available when the issue hits newsstands on Tuesday, June 9.
