Country singer and Voice coach Blake Shelton had a 40th birthday to remember.
Shelton’s girlfriend, 46-year-old ska singer Gwen Stefani, joined him on his tour on Saturday to celebrate his special day. Shelton was scheduled to perform as a headliner at the 2016 Country Jam festival in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Stefani decorated the private jet with fun decorations that included hand-painted Blake and Gwen-themed wine glasses. She posted several pictures of celebration on her Snapchat that included funny pictures of Shelton sporting a “It’s The Big 40th Birthday” badge and big red birthday-themed sunglasses. Stefani also surprised her beau with a birthday cake in the shape of a black guitar.
Stefani also made a couple of appearances on stage that evening. The couple performed their duet, “Go Ahead and Break My Heart.” Later, Stefani performed her song, “Hella Good,” and followed it up with a long lip lock with the birthday boy. Shelton, clearly flustered by all the attention, told the crowd, “What just happened?! I don’t know how I’m going to follow that.”
Later that evening he expressed his appreciation for having such a great birthday. “I possibly witnessed the coolest thing of my life tonight,” he tweeted. “Thank you Colorado and @gwenstefani!!! Look up the videos!!”
Shelton and Stefani first connected when they worked on The Voice as singing coaches. They have been dating for over 7 months.
