The 7 Most Disgusting Celebrity Beards

A beard isn’t always a bad thing – but it can be. It seems like there are enough men in Hollywood who are confused about what a beard is supposed to do. If someone doesn’t have a really nice face, it doesn’t really matter but, for men that do, they really shouldn’t cover it up with loads of facial hair. In spite of this, some of Hollywood’s hottest male celebrities have taken the beard route – with disastrous consequences. Because good-looking men should never hide their faces, we decided to take a look at the most disgusting celebrity beards. Here are 7 men who should think again before they ever let their facial hair get out of control again!

7. Ryan Gosling

Ryan Gosling looks good with a little bit of facial hair. With just a touch of scruff, he looks more manly; however, when he lets it grow into a beard, he looks heavy. Beards are not Gosling’s friends. Someone needs to let him know so that he avoids growing another one in the future. His facial structure is just too nice to sit and hide behind some gnarly hair.

The last time that the Oscar-nominated actor really grew a beard was when he landed the role of the father in “The Lovely Bones.” He gained 60 pounds and grew some unsightly facial hair so that he would appear older. The director, Fran Walsh, wasn’t into it though. That wasn’t the direction he wanted to take. He wanted to use hair and makeup to age Gosling. They ended up parting ways because of these creative differences. Walsh gave the role to Mark Wahlberg and Gosling was left with 60 pounds of excess weight and a really ugly beard.

6. Jared Leto

Jared Leto is pretty underrated in the looks department. When he was younger, everyone knew how attractive he was because he didn’t try to hide it; however, for years now, he has hidden his beauty from the public. He keeps his hair long, grew a beard and changed how he dresses. The only way we can describe his style now is with one word: Bizarre. He is a far cry the hot man he was in “Requiem for a Dream.”

We don’t really like anything about his new look; however, we’re not sure what we hate more: His long hair or his ridiculous beard. Because of all this unnecessary hair, we can’t enjoy his perfect facial structure anymore and that upsets us! If he wasn’t so bloody talented, we would have already written him off.

5. Bradley Cooper

Bradley Cooper is a sight for sore eyes. He has great facial structure, chilling blue eyes and a dazzling smile. When he’s freshly shaved, he almost always looks good. When he sports a beard, however, that’s a different story. A lot of scruff makes him look heavier. He has such chiseled features but they don’t get to stand out unless he keeps the beard really contained and, by contained, we mean gone.

We may not like the beard; however, we don’t mind when he has a bit of facial hair. The key for him though is to keep it to a minimum. Once he lets it go, he seems to look more like a homeless person than an A-list star. We’ve seen this happen to way too many male celebrities. Once they start sporting a beard, it changes their appearance entirely – and not for the better!

4. Tom Hardy

Tom Hardy isn’t quite conventionally attractive; however, there is no denying that he has a certain je ne sais quoi. We here at Fame10 have a soft spot for the English actor – but only when he is without that awful facial hair. It turns out that he has grown quite attached to his beard. When he was asked if he could shave it off for a photoshoot, he was quite defensive. “I ain’t shaving my beard off. To shave my beard off would be to cut my f*cking nuts off. You know what I mean? Without them, I am no longer…I am now a lie. Why would I do that?”

We kind of get why he didn’t want to shave it off for a photoshoot – he is obviously a man who likes to do as he pleases and doesn’t like to be told what to do. That being said, we think the beard definitely ages him. With it, all his wrinkles stand out that much more.

3. Mel Gibson

It’s been a long time since Mel Gibson was considered one the sexiest men alive; however, we shouldn’t forget that he once held the title. He was on top of the world back then. He had jobs flooding in, a full head of hair and tons of respect within the film industry. All that has changed, but that doesn’t mean that he should completely let go. He needs to get it all back and we don’t see him getting even halfway there with that ridiculous two-toned beard he’s grown. It is bad on so many levels.

Like most celebrity men, Gibson looks best when he’s clean-shaven. He will never be the hot young man he used to be, but that doesn’t mean that he should completely give up. He’s still got a number of years left in the film industry so, if he wants to be taken a little more seriously, he should probably get rid of the beard.

2. Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt is gorgeous. He has perfect facial structure, great skin and amazing hair. In spite of all of his genetic gifts, however, he still chooses to let go every so often with a really unattractive beard that doesn’t suit him in the least. If there is one thing that suits him, it is the clean-shaven look. We’ve seen Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie stand by him with some of the most repulsive facial hair Hollywood has ever seen.

According to Pitt, one of the reasons that he grows a beard is because of boredom. You’d think raising six children and having a successful film career wouldn’t leave a lot of time for him to get bored – but here we are! He really needs to not grow out his facial hair again – he’s much too hot for that!

1. Andrew Garfield

These days, Andrew Garfield is looking more like a cave man than an A-list actor. The only way we can recognize him is if he has his cute girlfriend, Emma Stone, on his arm and given how gross his beard is looking she might not want to be publicly associated with him much longer. We don’t know what possessed him to grow a beard. We’re hoping it is for a movie role (“Teen Wolf” maybe?) and not because he has completely given up on his appearance.

Maybe he needs to be reminded that he’s an actor and that he needs to pay more attention to his grooming habits. The longer his beard gets, the less attractive he becomes. He might not see it that way, but we do. We can’t even imagine how it must be for Stone. How does she kiss him with all that hair?
