This takes “right place, right time” to a whole new level.

Igor Vorozhbitsyn is a 42-year-old Russian man who enjoys fishing. He also apparently enjoys the music of Justin Bieber, and that’s what saved his life.

Vorozhbitsyn was making the trip to his local fishing spot when a brown bear pounced on the man. He told reporters in the Yakutia Republic that he believed he was going to be killed, until his phone rang and Bieber’s pop-hit “Baby” echoed through the North Russian province.

At this stage the bear could either ignore the screeching and finish his meal, but instead the song ruined his appetite to such an extent that it ran back into the forest, leaving the man to be discovered by some fellow fisherman.

Why did a 42-year-old Russian man have “Baby” as his ringtone? It was a prank, but one that saved his life.

“I couldn’t believe my luck when the phone went off and he fled. I know that sort of ringtone isn’t to everyone’s taste but my granddaughter loaded it onto my phone for a joke,” he added.

So remember: If you’re ever going into an area heavily-populated by bears you need to load Justin Bieber songs on your phone. Alternatively you could just be eaten by bears, which might be a better option for you depending on your musical tastes.
