7 Celebrities Who Are Famous For Being Famous

There are several celebrities who are only famous for being famous. Some of them have no real talents or abilities while others achieve fame simply through association with an actual celebrity. Some of these “talentless” celebrities have actually managed to have pretty successful careers in Hollywood, even though they haven’t quite earned the opportunities in the traditional way. We’re guessing that their careers have flourished because people want to capitalize on their notoriety; however, this kind of demeans celebrities who have actually made it thanks to their talents and good work ethic. Here are 7 celebrities who are famous for being famous!

7. Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton was one of the first celebrities to become famous for being famous. How this happened involved a combination of factors. She had a reality TV show that was about to air and, around that same time, she had a sex tape that was leaked. She became a household name over night. Her picture was everywhere and everyone wanted to know anything and everything about her.

As time went on, we did learn more and more about the heiress, but none of it was particularly interesting. She was beautiful, wealthy and her only real hobbies were shopping, partying and jet setting. For someone who had managed to secure so much of our fascination, she lacked enough substance to maintain it. Over time, interest has faded. She’s now known as just one of those people who became famous for having no real talent at all.

6. Nicole Richie

Like her good friend Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie also became famous for having no real talents. These two starred on the reality TV show “The Simple Life” together, which showed them performing manual, low paying jobs with little to no success. The show made the two friends incredibly successful and popular for doing nothing of value. Richie, much like Hilton, was also a fixture on the club scene; however, unlike her friend, the adopted daughter of Lionel Richie wasn’t as dimwitted.

Over the years, Richie has managed to establish a career for herself outside of reality television. Because of her amazing red carpet and street fashion, she is considered a style icon. She has successfully launched her own jewelry line with a ready to wear line, House of Harlow 1960, and a clothing line, Winter Kate. Richie also had a role as a mentor on NBC’s “Fashion Star,” alongside Jessica Simpson and stars in her own reality based web-series, Candidly Nicole.

5. Farrah Abraham

Farrah Abraham is the trashiest of those who have been described as famous for being famous. She got her start on the reality TV show “Teen Mom” and, just like any girl desperate for an extra 15-minutes of fame, she’s constantly looking for new ways to prolong her stay in the public eye. She’s released a memoir, a children’s book, a song and a sex tape, “Farrah Superstar: Backdoor Teen Mom.”

In spite of how trashy and desperate Abraham obviously is, people still seem to have grave difficulty ignoring her completely. She’s kind of like a car crash. You want to turn away, but you can’t! This year, she’s took part in “Couple’s Therapy” – without a partner – and there was even television special on her called “Being Farrah.” She also has a second pornographic film coming out called “Farrah 2: Backdoor and More.” The world will eventually lose interest, but some of us are getting impatient for that day.

4. Kelly Osbourne

Kelly Osbourne has really famous parents, which is how she was able to get her name out there in the first place. If her parents weren’t Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, her family never would have been given a reality TV show. Without the reality TV show, Kelly never would have been able to jump-start her short-lived music career. She just never really had the talent for it to begin with.

In recent years, however, Kelly has finally been able to make a name for herself as a fashion critic on “Fashion Police.” She doesn’t need her family’s notoriety to help her with this. She has a great eye for what looks good and what doesn’t and she has enough wit to keep viewers engaged and amused. She may have begun her career by being famous for nothing at all, but she’s proven in the last few years that she has enough personality to be a fun a host.

3. Amber Rose

Amber Rose has become famous for being famous. Her career officially began when she started dating Kanye West and began accompanying him to various events. When things ended with him, she latched onto another famous guy in the hip-hop world, Wiz Khalifa. Like Kim Kardashian, Rose is pretty clever. She knows that dressing provocatively at events and releasing sexy photos on social media keeps people interested, so she makes sure to do both.

At the end of the day, Rose doesn’t seem to have much of a career outside of her relationships. She’s definitely got sex appeal, but she doesn’t have a lot of talent. She occasionally used to model, but even that seems to have taken a backseat lately. If it weren’t for the men she’s dated, we’re not sure how famous she would be and, if she didn’t know how to work the spotlight, we’re pretty sure she would have already faded into oblivion.

2. Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian

The Kardashians must have been green with envy when they saw the kind of success Paris Hilton had as a result of her sex tape and her reality TV show “The Simple Life.” They obviously wanted that level of fame, but they didn’t want to have to work for it. They’ll never admit this, but it seems pretty clear that someone from their camp leaked Kim’s sex tape to raise the public’s awareness of the family. After that, the family got into talks with E! about a reality show featuring the Kardashian girls and the Jenner family.

Now Kim, Kourtney and Khloe are the most famous of those who are only famous for being famous. None of these women have any real talents and they are completely fine with that. They don’t want to do anything of real substance and are happy to milk their 15-minutes for as long as they can.

1. Pippa Middleton

Pippa Middleton was not especially famous before her sister married into the royal family. She was rarely photographed and was known more as Kate Middleton’s younger, more homely sister. At the royal wedding back in 2011, however, Pippa ended up stealing the show with her figure-hugging bridesmaid dress. Suddenly the world was really interested in her. The paparazzi began stalking her relentlessly and she was suddenly being offered certain career opportunities because some companies wanted to capitalize on her fame.

A couple of the opportunities Pippa received because of who she is didn’t end up working out – obviously. She was paid a £400,000 advance to write a book on party planning, which ended up being a total flop. Reviews mocked it for lack of originality. She also wrote for The Telegraph. She was fired after six months because her column never gained traction with readers and was criticized for being “silly and boring.” People really need to stop giving Pippa jobs solely based on being the sister of Princess Kate.
