Despite many thinking they had been secretly married for years, former One Tree Hill star Hilarie Burton and actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan officially tied the knot on October 5, 2019 and had some of their closest friends there to celebrate!
After starring for many years together on the hit teen drama One Tree Hill, Burton proved her friendships formed on the show were still going strong as both Sophia Bush who played her on-screen best friend Brooke Davis, and Bethany Joy Lenz who played Haley James Scott, were of the few in attendance at the private wedding and reception.
“My Missy sister is a Mrs WIFE! It was perfect. Just like them. @hilarieburton + @jeffreydeanmorgan here’s to mischief forever!” Bush wrote alongside a photo of the pair celebrating Burton’s wedding. “Love you lady!!!! Real life is so much better than tv. Xoxoxox” Burton responded to the post.
Joy Lenz shared her own sweet photo of herself with Burton along with the caption, “I couldn’t be happier Come what may, we’re family for life. My sis got hitched in the BEST WAY. @hilarieburton you were stunning and I wept my way through the night watching you and @jeffreydeanmorgan choose each other forever. Your family & journey is a gift to everyone you meet. CONGRATULATIONS to the coolest brood I’ve ever met. I’m seriously inspired. #mischiefforever 10.5.19.” Burton commented back, “Mischief, my love! My heart soared to see you. Love you!!!”
Meanwhile, Morgan also shared another post which features the couple shortly after saying “I do” with their son Gus walking in front of them and Burton holding their young daughter, George, while Sophia Bush can be seen congratulating them. In the post Morgan revealed that his former Supernatural costar Jensen Ackles actually performed the wedding along with his current The Walking Dead costar Norman Reedus.
“Ok. A few words… It was an intimate ceremony… performed by @jensenackles and @bigbaldhead with our kids at our sides… and the party of the century afterwards… thank you to all our friends and family. It was, without a doubt… the best day of our lives. Ever ever. Just never knew that it could be so damn perfect. It was. And more. Xxxxjd,” the actor shared.
