Without a doubt, out of Caitlyn Jenner’s entire family, it is most obvious that it is Jenner’s ex-wife Kris Jenner who has had the most trouble adjusting to Bruce Jenner’s transformation to Caitlyn.
Kris has remained the most apprehensive, and although she is taking her time “getting to know” Caitlyn, there are just some things she has not adjusted to yet, and it seems one of those things is the name change. While talking to Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush he asked Kris, “Can you call Caitlyn, Caitlyn?” Kris replied very candidly saying that she is not ready for that: “No. I say ‘Jenner.'”
“It’s hard, you know, it’s really, really hard. What I have realized in all of this is that everyone handles stuff a different way. No matter what it is, you know. We’re all people. We all have different emotions,” Kris went on to explain.
She also added that it’s been difficult for her because, after knowing Bruce and being married for 22 years, she thought it would be easier getting to know Caitlyn. “I just thought she would be a little bit different. Bruce has a distinct personality and, you know, had definite characteristics. And Caitlyn has some different ones, I feel.”
