A couple of months ago rumors started swirling that all was not well in Canadian rocker paradise with reports that Avril Lavigne, 30, and Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger, 39, were headed for a divorce.
There were several “sources” who indicated that the two were having troubles which was only furthered after Avril was seen celebrating her 30th birthday sans hubby Kroeger and has been seen without her wedding ring.
While nothing seemed to come out of the rumors, in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight Canada Kroeger dismissed all of the things that have been said about his one year marriage to Lavigne coming to an end.
“Sometimes it’s funny. When you’re standing in the checkout line at a grocery store and you look over and it’s your face on there. Not the…Kardashians…and Brangelinas…it’s ‘Chavril.’ You’re like, ‘Can I buy all these? So that no one can see?'” Kroeger joked.
He also stated that all the tabloid rumors even had his own family worried, “You know my dad calls me up and he’s just like, ‘I haven’t slept in 2 days, what’s going on?’ I’m like, ‘Dad you’re not buying all this crap are you?’ You know, I get to hear all the rumor mill stuff. I find it very amusing.”
He joked around by adding, “Let’s start a new rumor, I’m pregnant!”
Kroeger and Lavigne began dating in 2012 while working together on Lavigne’s fifth album and married a year later in 2013.
While Nickelback remains one of the most satiricized bands of today, they are still planning their “No Fixed Address Tour” which kicks off in February 2015.
