It is official, after much speculation, teen heart throb Austin Mahone, 18, and Fifth Harmony’s Camila Cabello, 17, have confirmed they are in fact dating.
While the pair have been facing rumors of the relationship for around a year, it wasn’t until Cabello’s group Fifth Harmony appeared on Watch What Happens Live on Monday November 3 did she admit to being Mahone’s girlfriend.
Surrounded by the rest of the group, Normani, Ally, Lauren and Dinah, WWHL host Andy Cohen casually asked, “Who’s the Mahone girlfriend?”
To which Cabello slowly raised her hand and stated, “That would be me.”
Of course Cohen continued to pry, trying to get details of the relationship by asking, “how long have you been together?”
Camila didn’t outright answer the question but did say, “I dunno, I mean, I think we’ve known each other for a really long time, we’ve known each other for like, a year and a half now, like since we were, like on X Factor was one of the first…”
While she did not in fact answer how long they had been a couple, it is apparent Austin was a fan when Fifth Harmony was formed on the show X Factor in 2012 to which the group placed third.
In December of 2012 Mahone tweeted his support and interest of Cabello, “@camilacabello97 Hey gorgeous! Good job tonight. I voted for you.”
From there the two publicly flirted over Twitter urging on dating rumors.
This year Mahone kicked off a world tour in July and Fifth Harmony was his opener for his U.S. Canada and Brazil concerts, performing their last one on October 3, while he continues on with his tour.
After Camila confirmed the relationship, Mahone tweeted, “Like you guys didn’t know already.”
