In a day and age when so many people are trying to perfect the art of the “selfie”, many celebs are horrified by the not so flattering pictures that are bound to be taken when they walk the red carpet with every single movement caught by hundreds of flashing cameras.
While many celebrities take flawless photos, we all know that one of the 90’s biggest pop princesses Britney Spears has never seemed to get a handle on it with her wide-eyed and genuinely scared looks.
Now it seems, Pitch Perfect star Anna Kendrick, 29, fears she has the same camera condition, even after years of being in the spotlight. “Every year that goes by, I think that my on-camera smile is going to get easier,” Kendrick stated in an interview for British Glamour’s May 2015 issue.
“It’s got worse and worse, to the point where I’m giving that Britney Spears terrified smile, where the lips are upturned, but there’s nothing but fear in the eyes…I’m also the queen of ruining group photos. All my friends will be smiling and looking really pretty, and I’ll be there pretending to pick my nose—or actually picking my nose. It’s a fine line.”
Luckily for Kendrick she is one of Hollywood’s elite who really is as down-to-earth and normal as she seems in interviews, meaning there isn’t much reason for paparazzi to always be following her around for a story.
“Part of it is because I’m dressed really boring in sweatpants and sneakers, so those pictures just don’t sell. You need to be really styled—in the perfect leather jacket little booties, and have your red lipstick and your coffee—and I haven’t managed that yet. If I’ve got jeans on, it’s a good day.”
Hopefully Kendrick works out her camera smile soon because she will be the center of attention all over again when the highly anticipated Pitch Perfect 2 hits theatres May 15.
