7 Celebrities Who Have Fallen Asleep During Interviews

Celebrities give a lot of interviews – it is part of the job! When it comes to promoting an album, a movie or a television show, celebs have to get out there and hustle. While many of them do this in the most professional manner possible, others seem to have slight difficulties with this and, by difficulties, we mean they fall asleep during their interviews. Even worse – some of these interviews are live! Maybe they are overworked or maybe they’ve been partying a little too hard. Whatever the case, they obviously need a few more zzz’s before showing up to their commitments. Here are 7 celebrities who dozed off during interviews!

7. David Hasselhoff

In 2006, David Hasselhoff flirted, danced and then fell asleep during a promotional interview on British TV for his new single “Jump in My Car.” People naturally assumed that he was drunk; however, he blamed his nodding off on sleeping pills. According to Hasselhoff, he had been using them because of his ridiculous schedule. He traveled to “Vancouver then Leeds, then Manchester then Croydon” and was reportedly really tired.

6. Honey Boo Boo

In 2012, Honey Boo Boo pretended to fall asleep on “Dr. Drew.” During his questioning, the former beauty pageant contestant suddenly put her head down and stopped responding. She only responded when Dr. Drew asked her if she found it “difficult to be on TV.” “Fans come up to me and I hate it,” she answered. We totally get that it must be difficult to be really young and ridiculously famous, but Honey Boo comes off as a brat in this interview.

5. Macy Gray

On “Oprah: Where Are They Now?” Macy Gray admitted that she would wear sunglasses during interviews because she would often fall asleep. “I used to do press with my glasses on because I’d be sitting there falling asleep. Literally. They’d be talking to me and I’d be asleep,” Gray confessed. “They would be like, ‘She’s an enigma! She doesn’t answer anyone’s questions…When you ask her a question, she just stares. She’s very intense.’ But, I would be asleep.”

4. Peaches Geldof

Back in 2009, Peaches Geldof fell asleep halfway through a television interview with Fearne Cotton. They were in the back of a taxi in New York City when the notorious party girl suddenly stopped answering her interviewer’s questions. Cotton found the situation a bit embarrassing. She assumed that Geldof was so bored by the questions that she decided to take a nap; however, it was more likely that the socialite was just tired after a night of heavy partying.

3. Cara Delevingne

During an interview with Vogue, Cara Delevingne fell asleep twice. According to writer Plum Sykes, the interview was off to a shaky start after the up and coming model overslept and showed up 30 minutes late to their meeting. Things didn’t get much better once they arrived at the spa, as she dozed off while getting a massage. Sykes wasn’t able to get as much of an interview as she’d hoped, so she wrote about Delevigne’s partying and how she sleeps through her commitments. Ouch!

2. Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj recently made headlines for dozing off four times during her interview with GQ. The interviewer was pretty nice about it and cut her some slack, claiming that it was the middle of fashion week and that she didn’t actually fall into REM. We wonder why Minaj is so tired these days. Is she being overworked or was she just tired of defending all of the unnecessary booty shaking we were exposed to in her “Anaconda” video?

1. Morgan Freeman

During promotional interviews for “Now You See me,” Morgan Freeman nodded off a couple of times while he was live on air with his co-star from the film, Michael Cain. Presenters on Q13 FOX News This Morning didn’t try to wake the actor and continued interviewing Caine as freeman sat there with his eyes closed. While he did manage to wake himself up halfway through the interview, he had grave difficulty keeping his eyes open for the rest of it.
