Why Kate Middleton And Prince William Are Breaking Their St. Patrick’s Day Tradition This Year

Kate Middleton and Prince William will not be participating in their traditional St. Patrick’s Day festivities this year!

The royal duo has an annual tradition of honoring the Irish Guards with a parade to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day each year. The event is usually quite light-hearted and fun, but unfortunately, it won’t be possible this year.

The reason for the cancellation is because the Irish Guards’ first battalion is currently deployed in Iraq and South Sudan, so they won’t be holding a parade in their honor.

The St. Patrick’s Day event has been a tradition for Kate and William for many years. Kate always steps out wearing a gorgeous green ensemble and the duo celebrate together with pints in hand. Last year, Kate wore a rich emerald green Alexander McQueen coat that she topped with a matching fascinator.

Luckily, the royal duo was still able to celebrate with Ireland in their own way this year! They recently went on a 3-day tour through Ireland where they visited the Emerald Isle, Dublin, County Meath, County Kildare, and Galway.
